I can confirm this works well.

Another vote for Pedal Commander. Totally changes the driving experience (in an awesome way). Can’t stand driving my 4R or Tundra without them.

No, it won’t add horsepower, but anyone who says it’s the same as pushing the pedal down farther is also incorrect. It gives immediate throttle input / response, and you can program the level and characteristics of that input.

I’ve been in the auto / rec toy modding game for a while, and I have NEVER found anything that improves the day 2 day driving experience as much as the Pedal Commander at this price point (less than $300).

So nobody wants to go the bore and stroker route? If you looking for power, i guess you can blow it with 12lb pully, then bore and stroke after you pop a rod.

I have heard conflicting information on this. If the delay is programmed into the ECU, then these devices can't affect it. If the delay comes from the pedal, then I guess it would be possible.

It modulates the pedal input signal to the ECU.

I promise you, no one who actually has one will say it’s the same as pushing the pedal farther. Throttle response / lag is greatly improved. Will NOT give you more power, but will give you much improved delivery of your vehicles existing power.

All I can say, I’m glad I have it. It completely changes response in pushing the throttle.
Let me put it this way, the only performance modification I’ve done is the pedal commander and can honestly say it will be last. The only thing else to do is all sound and money.

Yes, I know this. There are numerous threads on this topic.

All I was saying is that these devices cannot manipulate what the ECU tells the throttle body to do. They can only manipulate what the pedal is telling the ECU. So, if the lag comes from the pedal, then what you say is possible. But, if the lag comes from the ECU, it is not.

Based on what you say, the lag must come from the pedal itself.

I have no doubt that these products improve people's driving experience. I have never heard a negative word from anyone who actually had one, aside from the occasional CEL.

To those complaining about sluggishness and difficult to pass someone, I also complained when I first got my runner, now my technique is I do a manual shift... 2nd or 3rd gear depending on speed and I can pass easily.

    The same 4Runner everyone has
I grew up driving old Volkswagens where passing someone meant putting it on my calendar first. The 4Runner has considerably more passing power, but I'm still happy just cruising. Enjoy the sights and stopping for gas less. I've stopped passing on 2 lane highways altogether. I've been stuck numerous times on the 395 because someone tried passing and didn't make it.
