Apologies if this is posted somewhere, I searched but didnt find my answer. So, I purchased some aftermarket wheels for my 4runner, as I understand it, the trd off road factory wheels are 7.5x17 and run a 265/70/r17 tire. I am still running that size tire, but on a 8.5x17 rim. Question is, does psi remain the same due to the additional width? Should I still run 32psi cold? I play with tire psi all the time, chalk test, ect ect. Searched the internet but found no real answers to rim width affecting psi in any way. Feedback appreciated.

I'd run the same PSI as you have been. You can always adjust if you start to notice uneven wear.

Same psi, but your wear may still be a little weird. Your wheels are wider than i would run with a 265mm tire.

For what its worth, some times list up to 9" wide for that size are acceptable, ironically my toyo oc at3 isnt one of them. Fwiw the guy at discount tire also said they wouldnt rub with a -6 offset. Lies.

I've found that 35 psi is the happy spot on my 18x9 wheels with 275/65/R18. I've messed around up and down and this seems like the best of decent ride, good overall tire wear, and ok fuel economy. I know this isn't apples to apples, but I hope it helps.
