4WD Newbie near Phoenix looking for off-road group to learn from

Hi, ya'll. I'm new here on this 4Runner forum.

Just bought a new 2017 SR5. I've wanted one for over 30 years, so this is my 65 year birthday gift!

I do nature, landscape and wildlife filming and photography professionally (31st year in biz). For last 5+ years was live-in caregiver for Dad, who at 98 became more than I alone could handle. He's now in a great little group home and I'm able to re-establish myself doing my work.

1st concern was a proper vehicle to get to remote shooting locations...now I have that!

What I don't have is a firm grasp of how to safely and responsibly operate my new Barcelona Red beauty offroad in the middle of nowhere.

Are there off-road groups or nearby (Phoenix, AZ) I can get together with and learn from?

I am in Mesa and joined Arizona 4Runners group on Facebook. Went to their monthly meet last month in Scottsdale and was amazed at the turnout (approx 70 4Runners showed up)! Great group of folks and are very active from what I have seen.
