I thought the same thing. Have the ability to mount one to the tent but I'm afraid it will just get wrecked by branches. Also thought one of those flat ones would be nice to mount to the hood but I have the fake scoop.. An don't know how reliable they are longterm, but the hood would be the ideal place for one

Well if the glare coming off your hood scoop is an issue.....

I actually think my Renogy would be less glare than the scoop lol. I had an Off Road rental last year and the glare was substantial. I like the idea of mounting it on the roof rack because I think by mounting it on your hood, your visibility suffers off the edge of your hood when negotiating over obstacles. But I rarely have spotters so the hood mount works for a lot of folks just fine. I'm starting to look into a dc to dc charger for my secondary batt, if you happen to have any 411 about those.

I don't. I decided to try and make a go with just the 27F battery, a solar suitcase, and a Yeti 400. So far so good but will no more as the winter ends and I get out more. If I remember correctly @Agent_Outside has a dc to dc charger and he may have some insight for you.

Morning all! Got a bunch of goodies to put in the '04 Runner this weekend. Midland GMRS radio, Jenson touchscreen receiver, brake controller, and a "new" drivers seat (found a mint one at salvage yard). Also got a Wilco spare tire carrier.

Total Chaos lower control arms on. Seat wasn't a direct match (plugs were not the same and was hesitant to rewire). Ended up taking out the foam and swapping it. That was a project.

Hope everyone has a good pandemic / Friday the 13th!

02D53CBD-7B0D-4634-A1EC-5BE8E2EA8314.jpg Well, I was able to get up in my stand with my gimpy ankle. Had two squirrels come by at 6:30ish. Then a rabbit. These turkeys are different. Some places I’ve hunted they 3BDE3F0D-72DC-4B9D-9768-6A521ED04E59.jpg about run you over. These though, the flock walks in a line. Then send out an alert call at the slightest warning. I’m gonna try my ground blind next..

Are you in Va.? D15CE4C6-8F9F-4814-96DB-C057A6BD94B4.jpg I’ve gotten five birds over the years. One time I walked in the woods and one about ran me over when I called. Other times, especially when they are hunted they are real smart. And it gets exciting. And the season comes in and out you have to know the rules and sure enough you see’em when the season is out.lol

Well, I harvested a beautiful 12 pointer, took it to show the neighbor, a retired Navy pilot (I asked him earlier if I could hunt his property he said YES, but I was already on the adjacent 97 acres so I was good). I says “man I got a real nice turkey this spring too” he says “did you kill my turkey”!!lol

Here’s a good one...I watched this great six pointer browse by as the sun set. Real good genetics horns came out his head sideways. I think to myself that’s gonna be a good one. It moved along then hoped the fence onto the neighbors property and “Boom”!!! Guess I shouldn’t of passed on him....lol

I harvested my first deer on Quantico with authorization. A huge six-pointer with compound bow. It was one of the most exciting hunts. I will never forget, dad got him mounted for me......,,,
