See, if they had only gone with the fender flares in this picture, it would have looked 1000% better.

Of course it’s to early to tell. You can’t even buy and the quality and reliability are totally unknown.

I would say an action sports minded couple with a very young family might buy in, but it just doesn't look practical for having grade to middle school children and taking a trip with luggage and gear. But, I'm not in that demographic so I could be completely wrong. I know young people will want one but affording one might be out of reach. If the economy takes a real slide in the coming years, this discussion could be all for not, depending on the price point. Hell it might not even get released. It also could end up being a rich boy toy, with collector models bringing big money in the next 10 to 20 years. If aoc gets her way, none of us will be driving any of these trucks. Contractors will be working out of a Prius.

Haha, there will always be a few ICE vehicles. Mostly antiques 20 years from now, hopefully, for the long term benefit of us all.
In the mean time the Bronco could steal a lot of market share from Jeep and Toyota. They did a lot of research and it shows. I bet the LR Defender guys are eating their hearts out right now. Why couldn’t have LR done that? Haha.
A lot of families drive 4 door wranglers, and I’m sure a lot of families will be considering 4 door Broncos.

Don't turn this into politics. We were having a nice discussion about the new Bronco vs. Runners.

I think the big contender will be the Cyber Truck, not the Rivian.

Well, the Bronco is available with a third pedal, while the T4R hasn’t been since 2002 (at least in America)...

    Time will tell...
Elon is a brilliant man; however Rivian was started by ex-Tesla employees (so I was told)...

Except that Sasquatch is best offroad package, and that package isn't available on the models with a stick shift. Go figure.

"The 2021 Ford Bronco's cool and unusual seven-speed manual transmission (with a "dogleg" shift pattern that includes a crawler gear at the bottom left position and six, typically placed, forward gears for day-to-day driving), is the sort of thing that gets our attention. For one, there's no denying the extra level of connection you get from driving a manual transmission vehicle—if you get it, you get it. And that crawler gear, combined with the Bronco's robust four-wheel-drive system's two-speed transfer case and various off-road driving modes, should provide some incredible low-speed control over any really technical stuff. But if you want it with the Sasquatch package, then, for now, you're out of luck.

Ford states the Sasquatch package will only be available with the SUV's optional 10-speed automatic transmission. That's a fine gearbox, but it's disappointing that Ford is making consumers choose between the manual transmission and the best factory-backed off-road kit."

Definitely a big mistake. Which Ford says it might correct if there’s enough demand.

I'm an old Ford fanatic from my musclecar days. Three new ford vehicles in 5 years of commuting 150 miles a day cured me of that. All three had transmission issues within 50k miles. All three had the Sync system that worked for a month then crapped out. All three were comfortable and looked awesome, with the last one traded in at 92k miles and a bad transmission and CV joints.

I love my 4Runner. It is perfect for my short commute and monthly trips into the woods. In fact, I'm taking it huckleberry picking tomorrow on some old logging roads up in the mountains. With upgraded tires, it is capable of just about anywhere I need to go.

That said, I LOVE the new Bronco! But, I just don't trust Ford. For my next vehicle, I really need a 3/4-ton 4x4 extracab pickup so I can tow my elderly dad's camper and boat that he said I can borrow anytime. But I figure I will probably go with a Tundra since I have gotten spoiled by simply putting in gas and doing routine maintenance rather than going to the dealer every few months for crap going wrong.

I watched a video comparison of Bronco, Wrangler, and 4 Runner recently on You Tube. Bronco and Wrangler beat the 4 Runner on just about every criteria they used. But that’s on paper. There was no criteria for reliability. It reminded me of the guys in the new Jeep that I met on a trail that had a leaking power steering pump. That’s the the kind of hassle you don’t need when you’re miles from a highway and roadside assistance.

My turn! I'm not brand bashing or bad mouthing anyone's choice of vehicle. But.. I really think and have always felt that the jeep looks, feels, and drives strangely. Looking at the new Bronco I get the same feeling. I'm sure it will be a fine vehicle yet it won't be a 4 Runner with real doors and practically soundproof cabin that keeps the road dust and noise at bay. The overall quality construction of our 4 Runners is hard to beat. No vehicle is perfect for sure but Toyota quality is right up there. Of course the disclaimer here is that I would certainly like to at least try the new Bronco,no thanks on the Jeep. For what it's worth,I'm old enough to not be ashamed of riding in a quality vehicle off-road with the AC going and some adult music on the stereo. Thus endeth the sermon. Thank you:sadviolin:
