Has anyone experienced their 4 Runner steering wheel shake at certain speeds? This is my second one and i am experiencing the shaking of the steering wheel. It has been aligned so I don't know what it could be.

wheel or tire problem, maybe threw a wheel weight? have you tried having the tires rotated and see if it helps?

If it's not wheels/tires, check your inner and outer tie rod ends, ball joints, and control arm bushings, they can cause shake in the steering as well.

I will try to rotate tires and see if that helps. Thanks! Also if that doesn't work I will check the other things! My last 4Runner I did end up rotating tires because I needed new ones and it did help some but these tires seem to be alright but worth a try! Thanks guys!!

Look for the rubber pieces disintegrating, and grease leaking from the boots. Then jack up the front end, and check for play in the components

I've seen techs at some of the major tire retailers that were incapable of balancing a tire, even if done multiple times (and they don't test drive it afterward).

Steering wheel shake could indicate at least one of the front wheels are out of balance or out of round or both. You can balance an out of round tire on the machine; however, it doesn't fix the issue.

If it is simply miserable and you want to go postal, I'd take it to a shop that services high end cars. They have road-force balancers that apply pressure to the tire as it rolls on the machine to detect multiple issues like high spots. Wheels and tires are not perfect. They have low and high spots.

During a road force balance, they will dismount the tire and rotate it on the rim to find the best balance to reduce the amount of weight required.

I have a large, heavy duty pickup truck with large tires and it took my dealer four tries to get my new tires balanced. Don't give up!!

Mine shakes all the time, after i go under and wash out all the sand and dirt that collects in mine, it is fine.
