Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.
Who knows how long it takes for the pump to fail. Probably an individual thing. I should be OK for a while even if I do have one of the defective pumps. Since I retired, I don't drive it a whole lot. Just over a year and just turned 5,600 miles yesterday.

If you guys go back and read this article that Benny posted, it states that 2014-2015 4Runners are now included in the recall and that certain vehicles should not have been on the recall list in the first place (2018-2019 4Runners are among those).

So that's why a lot of you 2019 owners are not on the recall list anymore.......at least according to that article.

I talked to the dealership 20 minutes ago about mine and they told me they have no idea whats going on as they have received incorrect data from Toyota. According to them my 4 Runner date code 12/18 is still pending re-call replacement on data they have.

I think the only plausible explanation has to be Toyota ninjas. They replaced the faulty fuel pumps without our knowledge, and BOOM, no more recall for us!

Like many, mine was initially recalled, showed up on the site as recalled, got the letter, etc. Now, no recall.

Yeah, my date is 12/18 also. I guess we'll have to wait to see what happens in the future, if they decide to put the removed ones back on the list or not. I'm a bit disappointed at Toyota that they aren't clearer on this issue.

When I talked to the Service Mgr today he said the same thing as Toyota has been very very slow on correct info on this that keeps changing daily....

Well, first check to see if your truck is even recalled: Enter VIN here: https://vinrcl.safercar.gov/vin/

We don't know how many incidents there have been......if any. Toyota hasn't reported on that. Since 2018's and 2019's were initially on the recall list and then taken off, it makes me think there hasn't been an incident (at least with 4Runners) and Toyota is being abundantly cautious in the wake of the Takata Airbag debacle.

To be honest, I don't think people have much to worry about.

I would agree, if it is 14-15 model years, many people have been driving them without issue and some of these already have high mileage. Just because a recall comes out does not mean spontaneous failure.

I just checked again. I am no longer on the list. Weird

No 2019 is. All 2018 and 2019's have been taken off the list.

Yeah, that's what I thought was weird. I decided to put in the VIN and check anyway. It'll probably be back on the list next month:D

No telling when it could happen. I just don't think it's very likely.

I'd be willing to bet virtually everyone with a 2014-2015 on here (even higher mileage owners) still have their original fuel pumps and have had zero issues with them......unless they got some bad gas or something of the sort.

If there is someone who's had a fuel pump go out randomly, please let us know.

I believe that in tank fuel pumps are cooled by the gasoline in the tank. It could possibly help to make sure you don't let it get below 1/2. But then again, that might have nothing to do with it. Just grabbin' straws here.

Your fuel light will come on after you burn17 gallons. However the 4Runner has 23 gallon fuel tank. So technically you could run it to the light and be okay.

Toyota updated the list on March 4th, 2020 they “mistakenly” listed 118,000 vehicles for the initial recall that supposedly don’t have an issue.

FYI: for those of you that do not know when your vehicle was manufactured, look on the driver's side B-pillar and you will find the date as shown here:b-pillar-mfg-date.jpg

So my 2019 TRD ORP was manufactured in June of 2019 and did not make it on the initial recall list.

The previous recall listed dates of manufacture that were involved.

The last I looked up our vin we were still free. It did say they have no known fix. Have you heard otherwise?

I had the 4 Runner in for service Saturday and the service advisor come into the waiting area and said "there is a fuel pump recall and your VIN# indicates you're affected" I said yeah I have been on then off the list so I guess I am officially back on huh? He said looks that way and there is a expected date of mid Dec I will put you on the list. Funny thing is I was on my way back from Fl 2 weeks ago and it ran like shit for about 50 miles then cleared up.

@ipnpulz How many miles are on your pump? Do you ever run the tanks low?
What are they going to do; put the same piece back in? That is literally what Nissans decision for a handful of Nissan & Infiniti cars & SUV's was. After months of no fuel gauge an independent shop said "we could put in a new tank but that it uses the same sending unit we just replaced"
That was the last straw with Nissan. They aren't built like the Nissans of the 90's...
    Rant over
They make sooooo much money & don't care for the people who buy their stuff. Sounds like politics! LMAO :duel:

What was done or replaced? Did you notice any issues before the repair?

I did not notice any issues, but I just want to get this done. For just in case that I need to take in for another service and hold this back then. No problem after.... When it is technical bulletin, I would not worry to much, but when it becomes safety recall, I get it done.
