I'll bet money the turbos will fail, always happens on factory forced induction platforms.

    Lol!

My brother has had two F150 EB's and no turbo failures. Not to mention that Volvo, and possibly other manufacturers have been manufacturing reliable turbo engines for decades.

I won't say that they'll be as bulletproof as the current drivetrain. But, I have faith in Toyota's ability to work out the bugs and make them pretty good.

routine maintenance is a bit more important on a turbo engine. do that and most will be okay.

secondly, a turbo rebuild kit isn't very expensive. those who like doing their own maintenance can most likely refurbish them themselves and save a ton of $$.

Volvo and saab are the only two that come to mind. I've seen a lot of issues with the eco boost platform in the focus and the f150. I have personal experience with failures in the n54 and m271 (BMW and MB respectively). I hope for the same as you mentioned but I'm not going to hold my breath.

They need to rip the Band-Aid off and make it full-blown electric already I'm tired of this weird in between tiny gas turbo motor partial electric deal. Waaayyyy too complicated in my opinion

Just make it electric make it affordable make 4lo pass the same amount of torque to all four wheels and don't make a big deal about it with a 15 million dollar super bowl commercials that we have to pay for in the price of the vehicle

And just give it 350/350. These 700+ hp monstrosities are too much for most drivers.

Electric isn't really a good option for a lot of people yet. It's fine for local commuting, but not for traveling.

Like now. We have power outages all over the place, largely caused by high demand due to the heat. Add several hundred thousand electric vehicles being plugged in. We just don’t have the grid for that.

I'd prefer to stay unplugged. TYVM.

No. Xterra is on a whole different fully boxed frame and has a solid rear axle with a locker option. Nothing close to the pathetic pathfinder Nissan is building now.
