Hello all, new to the forum here. I am currently shopping for a new to me vehicle for my family. I'm sure this has been discussed before but just thought I would ask. This 4Runner will mainly be for my wife. We have a two year old and another on the way. Her current car is a Mazda CX-3, which is quite cramped inside and of course not off road capable. Anyways, she loves 4Runners and just wanting opinions on 2nd or 3rd gen for trips into town, occasionally smaller road trips and of course a weekend trail ride. Please let me know what you think!! There are several of each Gen online for sale but the prices are all over the place.

Thanks for your help in advance!!

Go for the 3rd gen. The 3.4L is much more reliable than the 3.0L in the second gen. Plus I think the the 3rd gen is a little larger and will fit a family better.
