2bExstreem Here, pleased to meet you all with my 3rd gen 96 4Runner

Hopping some one out there can help me with my electric issue. My 4runner shuts off but not all the way till i open the back hatch. Any ideas out there would be helpful.... Thanks

Ya thats what I'm saying too. I turn off the key and the engine shuts off but all the gauges are on (everything still has power,windows,lights,ext) till i go out and open the back hatch then it all shuts off. Im so lost on this one too,

 

Does it shut off if you pull the key? Well I guess you can start by tracing your rear hatch. See if you got anything spliced in somewhere. I'm sure if someone spliced they probably didn't do a good job. So it will be noticeable.

You a new owner. How long have you had it?
When did it start?

 

Ive had it for about a year and a half and its always had this problem. i have taked the back hatch apart a few times and found nothing wrong. although the back window and the sun roof have never work scene ive owned it
