Although I've driven 4Runners all my adult life, I'm am definitely not an expert on all things 4Runner.

    1st 4Runner was a Green 1991 SR5 V6 4WD.

    2nd 4Runner (Current) is a White 2008 Sport Edition V8 4WD.

    3rd 4Runner (Newly Acquired) is a Black 2001 Sport Edition V6 2WD

    I also had a Tacoma 2001 Black PreRunner V6 2WD.

    My moms 4Runner is a 2013 White SR5 V6 2WD.

    My pops Tacoma is a 2008 Tan TRD Off-Road V6 4WD.

I'm looking at buying a set of used matte black Method Racing Wheels with LT265/17R16 tires for winter use to put on my 4th Gen which currently sits on 5th Gen stock wheels with P265/70R17 tires. Does anyone know if that wheel size would work well on my 4th Gen?

    Thanks!

    Welcome.

Something is wrong with your listed tire size. The second value (after the forward slash) is typically something like 60, 65, 70, 75, etc... nothing as low as "17" because that's the ratio of sidewall height to tread width (17% of 265 is a sidewall height of only 45mm (less than 2"), and if the tires are really that much of a "rubber band", I would never run them myself.

    Sorry. Should've been LT265/75R16.

I guess the question is, would 16" rims fit on a 4th Gen?

    Thanks

Stock wheel size (Sport Eddition, at least) is 17" diameter x 7.5" wide with a +30mm offset. As long as the lug bolt pattern is the same AND the offset is compatible, the 16" wheels will work, but I don't have those bolt pattern details to confirm for you.

    Working on this.
The 265/70R17 tire and rims will fit. I currently have them on my 2004 SR5 2WD. No mods.

From looking at that picture, it appears that someone's 4R needs some love!
