was shopping around for tires and wheels, thinking of a 285/75/17 with a -12 method 701 wheel.
just wanted to see if it was possible to fit these wheels and tires. totally fine with body mount chop and trimming in the plastic if need to, just didn't want to run into bigger problems such as rubbing against sway bar and UCA's

Sorry no one ever helped you out with this post.

An aggressive body mount chop (or body mount relocation), folding pinch welds and and trimming the bumper/ fender liner should get you there.
Winwin end caps help keep a clean look if needed. This was enough for me even with -38 offset and 34's. Should be more than enough for the setup you're looking into.

Wheel specs were 17x8.5 -12 with 1.25" spacers
Offset equivalent to the more common 17x9 -38

This would be more than enough for the setup your looking into. But my journey continued.

Once I removed my front sway bar I needed even more room to allow the front wheels to articulate. The extra articulation and offset was chewing up fenders when flexed out with the wheels turned. I could reattach my sway bar or just remove the wheel spacers... But I liked the extra flex and the wide stance seemed to help with stability in off camber situations.

Here's some photos of the carnage.

So back to cutting; Instead of removing the spacers or reattaching my sway bar I upgraded my front bump stops and installed high clearance fender liners from C4. This gave me plenty of clearance and allows me the space for 35's in the future.

It also mitigates some of my concerns with ingesting water after I did a viper cut and extensive fender liner trimming. This is a concern I have with all viper cuts since the air intake is under the passenger side fender directly above the fender liner.

This is how it sits now with lots of offset and 34s. Ready for 35's!

This should give you an idea of what it takes to run 35's with pretty aggressive offset.

This link will provide some more simple mods to start with. Should get you running 33's or maybe 34's without issue.
