I ordered a new SR5-P earlier this year, took delivery about two months ago, have driven it approx. 900 miles or maybe two dozen times. I've backed it into parking spaces & into my garage each time it's been out. I'm very familiar w/ the camera view including being able to see the trailer hitch receiver. Today I was backing up & can now see my license plate, the bumper step (that I couldn't see before) & can no longer see the hitch. I called my salesman just before closing time & he thinks I just don't remember seeing the license plate or never noticed it before. I don't think that this is the case. Anybody else run into this? The camera housing seems quite solid - so I'm puzzled as to what's going on.

Do recall if you were always able to se it? I never saw mine until yesterday & can no longer see the hitch sticking out whereas I could before.

There is no "adjustment" built into the OEM camera lens that I'm aware of. This is done so that everyone sees the exact same thing - for product liability reasons. If your field of view has shifted, the possibility exists that somebody has bumped into your hatch.

In my 2021 SR5 Premium, I can - and have always been able to - see my license plate. I cannot see my hitch unless I have a draw bar in there.

I don't recall a change. I know when I switched from a temporary paper tag to my real tag, the real one was more visible. I have a bike rack in the receiver all the time which is always visible, so no experience with viewing the hitch itself.

Thanks for your response. I started doubting my recollection until I watched a video last night showing what I used to see.

Well that's the good news/bad news then. Good news is nothing's wrong...bad news, I'm a yum head for not noticing the plate before. In any event, thanks for letting me know I need to pay closer attention to things.

nice quality video though. I have 2023 4Runner and for some reason the quality of the backup camera sucks compared to prior years
