Lol in anticipation of trading in the ORP for a new ORP, I had already ordered a whole new set of overlays. So then I didn’t trade in for a newer ORP, but rather a Pro had showed up in the meantime and I jumped on it, JUMPED ON IT!! So I have that whole kit for ORP badges.

Where did you order your overlays from and have you installed them?

I ordered them from https://www.runnin4tacos.com/ I’m still waiting to receive them. They have different options which is nice: I needed back emblem and 4Runner on back hatch and then the two TRD Off Road on each side.

It makes me wonder though if all the aftermarket plastic stuff is coming from the same China mfg, and each vendor is selling them at different prices from $60 to $200. I assume the Toyota plastic parts are mfg in Japan.

Perhaps rather than blacking out the side emblems, why don't people just remove them altogether? or are there holes under there?

Its kinda a weird place to put the emblems anyway from Toyota.

Is CarTrimHome really in the UK? Seems like it would take a long time to arrive and be a mess if you needed a return. Also, what are the options with that lower valance to make it match? Can you buy the new piece already painted, get an overylay for it or is everyone painting that themselves?

    TIA

I just pulled the trigger on the 4runnerLifestyle website due to the reviews. Still curious about matching the lower valance, front and back.

Ok so took a chance on this:

Install of top grill piece was perfect. Then lined up my letters using a piece of 3m painters tape. When I removed the tape, here is what happened:

Waiting on a response from Seller - already ordered the one from CarTrim

Response from seller. If they refund me $10 would I be willing to do my own modifications... still laughing at that response.

Eventually they refunded my money and let me keep the part. The one from CarTrim was perfect.

Great thread. Is their a TRD pro grill that will fit a 2021 SR5 with no overlay? If so, best buying option? I’ve never messed around with the grill though I’m all in on these.

I installed the T and the A then used a straight edge between the two to have a base to sit the bottoms on.

Pinstripes, lots of em. Plus a couple dents.
I just cant do the Pro grill. No offense to y'all - but it's too wannabee for me. I even have a valid reason to do it - would make installing a front camera a heckuva lot easier.

Saw a MGM 4Runner yesterday in Bentonville, AR with the pro grill and was like ooooh a Pro! Then I noticed his silver front bumper cover. Not a Pro.

I dont think most people are trying to pretend its a PRO it just gives a different look, its just a 4RUNNER, not trying to pass a Porsche 911 off as a Turbo by adding flares and a badge. Plus it can be easily removed. My SR5 is white and not convinced it looks any better, but I can always just take it off. I do plan on getting the lower valance filmed w/matte black to complete the look, again can always take it off.

i have a pro and im all for it. i might be wrong, but i think the majority of the people swapping grills like the looks and not trying to pass as a TRD Pro. IMO it does look way better. if i had a non pro model it def would be my first "mod".

You and me both. Besides, I don't actually want to be a Pro. I'm extremely happy with my KDSS ORP.

To each their own :). I just prefer the aesthetic of the pro grill, it's cleaner and works better with the angular body design, IMO.

oh no! so sorry to hear that happened. The only negative thing I've heard about other after market grills is they tend to fade in the sun so some people recommended spraying it with something less prone to sun damage. I can't find the threads to link it, but just figured I'd share. I've had mine sitting in the box for months, need to finally get around it installing it lol.

I prefer the aesthetics of the pro grill as well. I also went with the factory parts instead of aftermarket.

Has anyone installed (or even attempted to install) the pro grille on a 2020 Limited edition? I see all the sites listed here that people are buying from say they're not compatible with Limited editions and I'm wondering why. If it's because of the TSS, I see swap outs done on other 4runners with TSS trimming around the block so why not the Limited I'm wondering? Is Pro grille install on a 2020 Limited much different than a 2020 ORP? If someone has installed on their 2020 Limited I'd love to hear/see!

Mine came from 4runnerlifestyle. There are some gaps on the side of the overlay that could be better and the letters had double sided tape that needed to be messed with before installation but it all went on pretty easily all in all. I don't notice any issues with it and I'm fairly anal. I thought it might bug me but it doesn't. I think most knock-off pro grills all fall into the same category. See the previous page for a front view pic of the grill on my '21 ORP.

Here's the email reply from 4runnerlifestyle on why it won't fit on a 21 TRD Off Road Premium:
The issue is the off road premium has either to many or to little inserts for the amount of clips on our grilles. We have had some customers buy it and trim it to make it work and we've had some customers buy them and they just fit perfect its just sort of a luck of the draw.
    Hopefully this helps!
