The 3 orange lights are after market, you buy all the supplies on Amazon and hard wire it to a fuse panel inside.

You wire it to fuse panel and then buy one of the push button switches.
Any car alarm can do this for cheap

I know this is late to your post-- Happy New Year;) Go on eBay and search "Switches Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro" and adjust the "Find parts for your automobile" to your specific T4R. You'll find a host of different types and markings. Pick one that fits your lighting addition. On the left side of your dash (left of steering wheel) locate 3 or 4 blank switch panels. These blanks can be easily replaced by the new switches. The wiring... Typically, direct to the fuse box in the engine compartment-- not sure on that one though:/ Regardless, run the same gauge wire to the lights-- see manufacturers instructions. I'll be installing LED's in the rear bumper corners this spring. I'll LYK how I make out.

Regarding the Sunroof thing, I would've ordered one if available, but honestly, I don't miss having it-- and, it's one less thing I need to worry about when it rains.

According to the current Toyota websites-- USA (toyota.com) CAN (toyota.ca), the following equipment is NOT available as "Standard or Optional" in the USA, however, ALL appear "Standard" on 4Runner TRD Pro models in CAN:
    √ Power Moonroof
    √ Power-Adjustable Heated Mirrors
    √ Integrated Signal Lamps

TMK, the only standard features added to TRD Pro models in USA from 2015/16 to the 17/18 models were; Imitation Carbon fiber on Center Console, Red stitching on seating, TRD Pro badge embroidery on 1st row seat headrests, Alum TRD Pro badge on the lower right tailgate.

It's likely that any TRD registered stateside was originally purchased in CAN. Can anyone confirm otherwise?

What is the purpose of these orange lights? Cool factor or is there some form functionality that I am missing?

if you're over I think it's 80" in width you're required to have clearance lights by DOT, on personal vehicles it's usually just to make it seem like it's bigger than it really is.

Example our work van was just replaced with a newer larger one, it is 81" wide and has the lights, the old one at 79" wide did not need them.

Interesting, Harvey. CAN has had these standard options, whereas, USA has not:/ That said, I just looked at the cover of the 2016 4Runner Dealership Brochure (USA). Pictured is a "TRD Off Road" (USA equivalent "Trail Premium") with the Integrated Signal Lamps. Until now, I have never noticed that detail.
