I was thinking of finding a way to have them stick out 2 inches more so our big USA feet will fit good...

Asian feet small , no problem...

in the cold north my big feet and boots on gotta be careful with the gas/brake pedals ..

no problem with Asians small feet ...

last month my friend had a vehicle plow into his store front almost killed his daughter ..
    pedal error .............Asian car ...

I am Canadian with size 12 feet. If the running board is not slippery, I can use It. Otherwise I get a dirty spot on my trousers just above ankle height. I have not yet looked at aftermarket, nor have I bitched at Toyota. I agree about the distance between the brake pedal and the vehicle structure. I cannot see how one could manage wearing Skidoo boots or felt packs.
Lovely vehicle to drive. Mine will not likely see off road but the all wheel drive is awesome in the snow.

I replaced the front mud guards .. used fiber re-enforced guards 1.5 inches longer .. also wider.

got a piece of card board made a pattern of the hole locations .. then installed the after market guards in the exact same mounting screws. I did buy new retainers and used s/steel screws to lock down these extremely stronger guards [these do not break in the cold north] toyota ones will ..also no slop on my ride .

I have the Nfabs, and agree that the front seat step is too far forward. The back steps are good.

I only use them for accessing the roof rack, so doesn't bother me. I never use them getting in and out of the car, but don't really need them.

I use these running boards to wash the vehicle roof.. then I move to the rear and stand on the rear tire ..

this is also done to remove snow from roof .. the roof rack I have set to the max fwd.. no noise so easy to remove the snow and wash roof...

I would like to get some that are about 2 inches wider .. I have the trail ones and they also protect the paint ..no slop on the side body..

Agree about the step being a bit too far forward. I swapped the N-fabs for the Toyota Predator steps and the front step placement is more useful for me. N-fabs look great just didn’t work for me.

I just ordered some rock sliders with top treads from RCI Metalworks that should work well as a step up to my ski rack, etc. If it is too slippery I will install a strip of adhesive backed Safety Tread Tape from Home Depot.RCI sliders with Top Tread.jpg RCI sliders with Top Tread 2.jpg

    Are those the 2" or 3" N-fabs?

I believe they are the 3" variety.

Yeah, I took mine off. Junk, IMHO. I may be old but not that old. Also, in Canada they get laden with sand and salt and ruin your pants.
