Hey guys so my wife's 2017 TRD premium 4Runner got the check engine and stalled on her I think it was on the freeway as she was heading to work but I'm not sure is I'm out of town working. sucks that I can't do s***. We haven't done any mods to the engine just lifted it tires, I was wondering if anybody has had issues for the almost brand new Toyota and so will toyota cover repairs and everything?

I literally had this same combo of lamps two days ago after I removed and reinstalled my secondary air pump. I disconnected and reconnected the power to that unit (front passenger side of engine bay) and they went off. Mine didn't stall, just got the lights. Maybe your pump is no good?

Well toyota called back and said a sensor read moisture in the engine or air intake but they test and checked everything and its good now.

Have you tried? It won’t fit in “most” cars.

So the K&N somehow trapped or let some moisture through and the "brains" threw a proper code and possibly saved you from bigger problems. Or maybe the brains just didn't like the K&N for some reason. Sounds like everything worked exactly as it should have.

Glad you got it figured out. Are you gonna stick with the K&N? It'd be interesting to see if it throws a code again. How long have you had it installed?

I’m not a fan of K&N...any filter where you can clearly see light through should tell you something about what else it lets through the intake.

Glad its fixed. I also just use factory filters nowadays, especially while in warranty.

I don't have a wife but it would take one time for her to be stranded on the side of the road and that K&N is in the trash. Too many weirdos out there to risk her safety.
