    Welcome!

An yes there are aftermarket options. Also a lot of people complain about the factory remote start because it shuts off the vehicle when you open the door. I don't have experience with the Toyota stuff but my Dad's GM vehicles always stay running when the door is opened. Good luck with your search.

If you have the push to start button, they shut off when you open the door. If you have a key (G-Key), it will stay running.

I just installed the accessoride remote start; very easy and completely plug and play install.

I have the '18 SR5 and had the dealer install my remote upon delivery. The vehicle does not shut down upon opening the door it does lock the doors which I can live with but the vehicle does not shut off. That was a must (I didn't want that either) and made sure to ask them before installing. There is much cheaper out there I'm sure but being brand new off the lot I guess I just felt better keeping it "all Toyota" even though it isn't a "Toyota" remote but you know what I mean. I also have the Compustar in my Honda (aftermarket) they seem to both work fine. Shop around and try to go with better quality and a quality install don't skimp on something like a remote.
