2011 check engine light?

So I'm a Tacoma guy by heart, but the family has me looking into a 4Runner.... I'm looking at a 2011 4x4 V6 SR5 with 103k miles HOWEVER it has the check engine light and the Traction Control light are both on. Has anyone had anything similar? sometimes it could be something easy or a pain. Besides that it is a clean 4Runner
