Just picked up this 2004 IS300 SportDesign in Alabaster Metallic. Couple of small issues but overall is in great shape and only has 119k miles. I'll be using this as my primary commuter during non snow conditions and keeping my 4Runner for hauling/camping/towing duty. My old 2002 IS300 that I owned about a decade ago was my most favorite car I've ever owned and I'm stoked to own one again. Time for some mods.

Edit: I'm going to use this as an unofficial build thread since the IS forums are all pretty much dead and I like this forum better.

    Upgrades/Mods:
    Michelin PRIMACY MXM4 P215/45R17
    Kenwood DMX47S with amp bypass
Kicker 46CSC front and rear speakers
    IS F-Sport shift knob
    White interior LEDs
Husky trim to fit floor liners
Muffler delete with black DC Sports resonator tip
    White dashboard and climate LED's
    Scangauge II
    Tint

    Fixes:
    Properly re-attached rear view mirror
    Replaced hood prop and holder
    New gas cap
    New driver's door lock actuator
    New headlight housings
    Polished OEM SportDesign fog lamps
    Replaced O2 sensor bank 2 sensor 2 for P0057
Replaced timing belt and tensioner, water pump, cam gaskets, crank gasket, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, upper and lower radiator hoses, radiator, thermostat, PCV valve, plug wires, and coils

Parts on hand to be installed at some point:
PowerStop brake rotors and OEM pads
2001 dashboard (to be wrapped soon)
used 10" MTX Thunder sub in Hammer box with 500W amp
    IS250 steering wheel swap

    Things needing fixing:
Front driver fender needs body work
Driver's side view mirror non functional
    Replace front grill emblem
    Replace wheel center caps

I mean, it does have a 2JZ, just not a real 2JZ. But it's 2JZ enough for me for now.

Just add the -gte... it isn't cheap but I have seen it done. My '87 Supra turbo was fun. I cannot imagine a 2jz-gte IS300 fun...
    What are your build plans?

The non-turbo 2J can still hold some serious power. Just get a turbo conversion kit and enjoy your 400+ horsepower. :)

    Nice ride, @MattAK

While I'd love to boost it that'll be down the line if it ever happens. First on the list is fixing the sticky dash (it's pretty bad), swapping out the stock radio for something actually useful, and replacing the timing belt. There wasn't any record of it being done and when we popped the top cover the belt looked old so it hasn't been done.
