I recently had a lift/lockers/regear done by a local shop and they recommended that I avoid the highway due to the 5.29 gears. I get that the RPMs will be higher than stock, but is this something I should genuinely be worried about? My 4runner has an auto trans and 35 inch tires. Would going back down to 4.88s make a substantial difference regarding highway manners?

Thanks in advance for the help.

I run 5:29’s with 35’s, I just go slow in the right lane. Stay about 65-70 mph, don’t push her past 3k rpm.
