Attached is the Blackstone report on my 2nd gen tacoma. Life got busy and I didn't change the oil for 17k miles. I believe the oil was walmart supertech. I just get whatever synthetic that is the best price.

17K miles? I'm surprised the engine didn't grenade.

17K miles? Wow, that's living life on the edge. Reminds me of a story I heard of an older woman with a Lexus RX whose engine gave out at around 90k miles. Turned out she had never had an oil change. She thought that since it was a Lexus, didn't need to do anything to it. A very expensive mistake.

I know crazy right? As you can see even 17k with whatever brand synthetic won't blow up your vehicle lol

It will likely never make it to 300k++ though.

Synthetic has been proven to go 20k, but that much metal/iron and silicone is not a good sign things are all peachy keen inside.

A close family friend had a brand new 1994 Lexus ES300. Her son had always taken the initiative to clean and maintain the family cars, and moved out of town. She just didnt realize it needed to be done until the dashboard lit up. Engine was toast.

At a point in my life where I just didn’t give a shit I had a Kia Sephia (read back the first t part of the sentence) and changed the oil 1 time in about 45,000 miles. Traded it in when I got my life back together on a Dodge Dakota and took care of my vehicles again. Crazy looking back on it now…

hey that is cool to see. I change mine every 5k with Pennzoil and OEM filter and will continue doing that. Very cool to see though, I think its called the Project Farm on Youtube thought highly of the supertech oil. Honestly, I think i over maintain mine but i do it because my wife and grand kids are in it a lot. I just want them to be safe.

This is why I don’t buy used vehicles lol but thanks for sharing, I find it funny (not in a bad or disrespectful way) that you weren’t able to find time to do it sooner than 17miles but were able to send it in to blackstone, I only say that because on my 2nd gen taco I change mine religiously every 5k miles with oem Toyota oil I did take a sample of it at 80k miles to mail to blackstone just never found the time to actually send it so it’s still sitting in the bottle in my garage
