I am willing to bet it is awfully hard to find oil that doesn't meet those standards.

This "argument"/discussion can go on till the end of time. First of all to the OP because you have the service plan your not "locked" into anything it's your vehicle get it changed whenever you want. I'm changing mine every 5-6,000 miles and I will for life. To soon? Maybe but it helps me sleep just a little better so I don't care.

    Absolutely...

5K for extreme use, or if you feel like it.

10K for light use, or if you feel like it.

    Hope this helps!

So if my rig is a DD, but the malls in summer can be extremely grueling, I should look at 5k intervals instead?

    Head swimming here...

Wow, this is harder than I thought. I need a Whiz Wheel to get through the oil change calculations.

I've never learned how to use an abacus, but that sounds like a cool mod to mount one in my 4R (for the gram, of course)

Come to think of it, a mod I don't know how to use and won't ever use sounds like the perfect weekend project

Read/follow your manual Your WAY over-thinking this thing. If your seriously that unsure about determining heavy/normal usage go towards more frequent change timeline and get some sleep.

No, I think i have this, but more examples of heavy usage would help me further I think. I know towing fits the bill, but what if you have frequent heavy loads from IKEA? What about your kids and their friends after a soccer game? I'm not sure Toyota fully thought out the oil change intervals.

I just had the 10k oil change at Toyota today... actually the mileage was 11226. No complaints from Toyota... on a side note... they programmed my key to open the windows. A nice feature in this heat.

    Yes me too,

My 15 Chevy Silverado has this feature, if I press and then hold the unlock button on my fob for 5 seconds all my windows roll down.

Lots of vehicles do this and people may not be aware our families Honda's also did.

For the key window open thingy, it is only available on certain trim levels, according to the tech. While she was writing up my work order, I asked about having the key programmed and she didn’t know off hand. When the truck was finished she surprised me when the windows opened...

It's on all trim levels. You can program all sorts of stuff through TechStream, the windows from fob is just one example. The list is in the manual.

    Check your manual.
I have a list of things to get programmed.
Be aware. They may charge you $62.50 for each feature.
I spoke to owner the day after purchase and got a voucher.
They are asses. The carista can do that plus more...
    I may just get that!
