2007 4Runner right passenger side clunking

I am wondering if anyone can help meout?I have a Toyota 4Runner 2007. 114 k baby miles had a clunking on the driver's side front end so I replace the sway bar bushings and sway bar links which did quiet it down. But now I have the clunking back again could it be the A frame bushings or is there something else I should look at the struts seem fine?

I looked underneath it took the wheels off I do have new sway bar bushings in the front and new sway bar links in the front I'm thinking it could be the a frame bushings that are one

 

when does the clunking happen? is it during turning, over bumps? could you replicate it by pushing down and compressing suspension?

 

No I can't replicate it by pushing down on the car it's not the struts if I go over a series of small bumps it kind of go Kong Kong Kong Kong and then go right away once I clear the bumps not a loud clunk soft

 

Mine is doing the same thing, I replaced the bushings, no change, I think it is in the strut tower, I am hopefully tearing into it next week. If I find it, I'll let you know.

 

Check your skid plates if you just did all the bushings. Make sure theyre all snug.

 

Skid plates are solid, even when it’s on the lift, you can (attempt to) shake everything in the front end and it’s all solid. I was almost afraid the rig was going to fall off we were shaking it so hard... Mine only happens at the bottom of a hill with an abrupt change in grade, like pulling out of the drive that falls toward the street then the curb gutter falls back towards the drive, when I hid that valley “clunk”. Speed bumps are hit and miss, it’s as if only when there is backwards force on the front wheels. I haven’t tried bumping a curb straight on to see if that will replicate it. Skid plates are the first thing I thought too.

 

@Batmango66 @Adam12 Did you figure this out? Mine started clunking again, same as you describe above, on the right side as well. I replaced my clunking OEM sway bar end links with some Valucraft ones from AutoZone a year ago. Same sound as before, now back. I'm starting to think that they're just shitty and I need better ones.

I already did my struts and sway bar bushings.

 

My hunch was correct. Bad sway bar links. Worse on passenger side. Will post a video soon. Bought Duralast ones this time with the lifetime warranty and we'll see if the last longer than a year. Definitely more solid than what came out.

End links should not be this easy to move. Clunk clunk clunk. 2 out of 4 joints were doing this.

New ones took two hands and significant effort to move.

 

I have not had the chance to dig into it but, I can say, after seeing this, I ordered new sway bar links. Thank You for posting and following up!!
