My 2006 Tundra SR5 TRD 4WD Double Cab had that driver’s side windshield pillar mounted grab handle installed from the factory. I never used it.

My 2022 4Runner SR5 Premium 4WD does not have the driver’s side grab handle, and I don’t miss it.

Perhaps that grab handle is of more critical use on a dramatically lifted vehicle.

I use that handle daily to help from destroying the side bolster on the driver's seat.

Lol yeah thats my car. Ill check later if theres a better pic of that B pilar but I wasnt ever trying to get pics of that. If its important to you guys its fairly easy to take off.....however its easy to lose the yellow plastic clips inside the bpilar and then your shit rattles. Stay tuned.

There's no grab handle provision on this piece?

In the Ebay ad I got the pic from, the trim is sold without the handles. If you look closely at the pic, there are indents where the handles would sit.

So the question is, are these handles just mounted to the B-pillar trim on the GX, or are there actual mounting holes on the body??? Tried to search for pics but no real luck.

Pic of handles from a GX.

So apparently the GX has C pillar grab handles as well which look to have different mounting than the B pillar handles. They actually look like the FJ Cruiser A pillar grab handles.

So in my continued research looking into how we can have a B-pillar grand handle on our 5th gen 4Runners, I found that Aliexpress already has an option. They use a mounting bracket as well but unsure if you would have to drill holes or they use existing mounting points. No install instructions in the ad.

    Here is a link but the screenshots are from the app;

    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005612210551.html

I am actually willing to try this as well if it utilizes existing mounts so I don't have to drill through the body.

My Defender had grab handles similar to this, positioned such that if the door is closed while someone has their hand on the handle, the hand will be pinched or crushed. It’s only a matter of time.

    Great shots without the trim!

Question, are these holes threaded or just holes? (specifically the holes towards the rear of the vehicle)

Easy enough to open them up to larger size if needed and put in a rivnut. The KTJO4X4 B-pillar handle for Tacomas does just that.

… or drill new holes wherever is appropriate. The hard part will be to transfer the holes to the garnish.

Too many to list & Worth every penny!
Looks like this mod will more than likely need Rivnuts. I think T-Nuts will fall in the backside of B pillar.
Once one nails down where they want the handles, then install the rivnuts, and one can insert a sharpened stud or bolt in said rivnut and place the panel in place and press slightly to transfer your drill hole.
    Hope that makes sense!
