Yes, both LT285/70 and LT255/80 fits under the body. I had both sizes under before I have my dual swingout bumper now.

Even a 285/75/17 fits under there if you don't have KDSS.
With KDSS a 285/70/17 juuuust fits.

I'm curious what it takes to get a skinny 35 to fit down there. I'm thinking of moving to Mickey Thomson's Baja Boss 35x12.5 and modifying the spare tire area to fit a Baja Boss 255/85/17. These sizes within 0.1" in diameter according to Mickey Thompson.
Being a skinny 35 hopefully it wouldn't hang too low...

Since my 34x11" (285/75/17) Falken fits I don't think it would take much more to get a 34.6x10" to fit...

Edit: I already have the 80% rear bash bar. Just trying to hold off on welding up a tire carrier as well. I kind of like having that weight as low as possible in the factory location. Even if it kills a bit of departure angle...

This is the right tire size choice for these vehicles.

Just installed today, no lift, no cutting, no rubbing. If I ran even trd pro wheels that poke out 10mm farther, I'd probably rub at full lock.
