Cats seem to work in keeping birds & vermin honest. I have two neighborhood cats that always seem to be on the hunt, birds stick to higher ground, trees and large bushes..I’ve never liked Cats but have grown to respect these two…

Just an FYI, shooting many birds that are not classed as "game birds" is illegal in the USA per Federal Law!!

"Protected birds - Federal law prohibits the killing of non-game migratory birds. Protected birds that you may encounter while dove hunting include songbirds, eagles, hawks, owls, vultures, killdeer, nighthawks, herons, egrets, and woodpeckers."

Use one of those anti-raptor/anti-coyote coats made for little dogs. Just wrap it around the mirror.

I had a huge spawn of black starlings in some tall arbrovitea next to the driveway at my last place. Thousands of them it seemed. I think they must have been territorial or something because everyday as
I pulled into the driveway, those little peckers would make a beeline for my windshield and each take a dump on the same, exact spot…every single day.

I started harassing them with a hose one weekend. The next day, there was a dead baby bird on the same spot they usually shit on. My car was nowhere near the trees, so they placed that carcass there with intention.

My only guess is that they were gangster birds trying to send me a message. Like “if we do this to our own…what do you think we’ll do to you. Continue like this and something…unfortunate could happen.”

Well, somebody told me about the owl trick. I placed one within eyesight of their nests…they collectively freaked out abandoned the nests shortly there after. Those damn birds didn’t know who they were messing with.

Try a gallon Ziploc over the mirror, he may not want to perch on it because of the slipperyness?

I'm just throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks; I really don't know if that would work or not but it's basically free to try.

This is insane. It was seriously time for you to pull a Jim Carey from Me Myself & Irene and climb up there and take a dump in their nest. They already took the gloves off, so you should have found ways to reciprocate!

Just wanted to say that folding the mirrors has fixed the bird poop problem. I'm wondering if the KTJO Power Folding Mirrors are compatible with the Limited edition with 360 cameras. I've messaged KTJO, but no response. I've already, a couple of times, took off with the mirrors still folded. :(

It's only illegal if you get caught, don't forget to put seagulls on your list. Take the mirrors off, the birds won't sit on them then. Just kidding, once in a great while we find bird shit on the mirror, but not so much where it runs down the door, that does suck.

One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
Get some of this from Amazon. I think it is essentially the same stuff that is in rodent glue traps. Tape up the mirrors and apply a bead of this where they are landing on the tape. I GUARANTEE it will work, insanely sticky. This stuff is very difficult to get off(WD40) and don’t get it on the paint. It won’t hurt the paint but it is a royal pain in the butt to get off ANYTHING it touches. I’ve used it to get rid of pigeons from my house roof peaks, no more poop running down the side of my house in years. It is no longer sticky but the birds remember it.
Edit: now they shit all over my a-hole neighbor’s house…..lol.

I had this problem when eastern phoebes nested on my front door exterior light fixture. The male would always perch on my Thule rack or elsewhere on my 4R.

Have you checked your eaves and other nooks and crannies or outbuildings for nests? If you find one just remove it after the young fledge (leave the next).
