Picked up a 2010 SR5 4WD last weekend and I noticed something aftermarket on the lower driver-side dashboard. The guy I bought it from has had the car for 10 years and didn't even know what it was, when I pointed it out. It has wires leading away under dash from some sort of sensor. Anyone know what this is?

    Oooh look, another mod.....

That picture is blurry and grainy. Take a better picture, a more close up picture of it. That would help us figure out what it is.

Looks like an aftermarket dealer installed Karr alarm system

Update..closer pic. I think it may be security related? There's a window sticker on the driver side window that says "Rockledge Securities". I looked them up and it appears to be an auto security company. Still not sure what this sensor is.

Is this Karr thingamajig utilitarian to the owner, or is it just dealer utility?

I believe it is a dealer install only. I had the Toyota dealer install this on my old 2008 Scion TC. Its an added alarm from the dealer costing about $600 if I remember correctly.
