    I've come across a few videos of 3rd gens having the same beep when you lock or unlock the car as more recent toyotas, like a 3rd gen tacoma or 5th gen 4runner. How this is done? Any info is appreciated.

    By programming the alarm. You can turn the chirp on or off. And set the alarm without locking the doors. All kinds of neat stuff.
