    Glad I opted for towing on insurance. Chose a local trustworthy shop so we’ll see what they say. Thanks for all the info.

    Benz in 1992-1996 changed all the wiring harness to bio degradable for environment. fast forward to 2000s . The harness started degrading and electric havocs started happening.. All the BS about environmental friendly hurts the environment more as they had to make more wires... All BS.. just like the EV is green.....

    There's no "government regulation" that dictates what insulation should be used. This is just car manufacturers doing what they do, which is whatever they can to cut down the cost of components.
