Seems like I am having an issue with my I Phone 12 when synced to my car audio. Just got '24 TRD Pro. When I am talking on the phone via the phone's speaker option, the caller on the other end's voice is good, what I would expect it to be. Then when it kicks over to the car audio via BlueTooth or via cable into the USB, the volume instantly drops so much that I can barely hear the other person, even when the volume is plenty high for other car operations, like music, and even when the volume is cranked up on the phone. I have to crank the volume up to 40 or 50 on the audio dial, and even then, its super soft. Then when I hang up and it switches back to audio, the radio is blasting loud, where it should be, given the setting I had to use in order to hear anything using the Bluetooth. Any idea why? Is there some sort of setting I need to adjust somewhere so I can actually hear someone using the Bluetooth on the car? Never had the issue in the car I just traded in with this same phone, so do not think it is a phone issue. Thanks.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

I have the exact same issue, but I have an iPhone 13. I got so many complaints that people couldn't hear me (the mic also sucks), that I disconnected the bluetooth and if I want to make a call, I use the wired earbuds to chat on the phone.

I have tried everything to adjust or fix the sound quality. It's due to the poor speaker/mic quality of our SloRunners.

When you are connected via Bluetooth in your Toyota, during your call raise the volume ON YOUR PHONE, not on the Toyota. That will correct your low volume issue.

the phone volume is cranked all the way up. checked that a dozen times. still need to have volume of the radio to 50 to hear anyone. so I just put them on speaker on the phone and it is instantly louder than using the car speakers. not sure if just outdated tech or there is a glitch somewhere, but i've just learned to use speaker function on phone. tempted to buy a new headunit. wonder if the mic on that is any better?

Take it to the dealer and see if it really is the car…. Or just in the settings.

I’m sure you paid enough to have it work properly

Did you try increasing the mic volume in the 4R settings? I had the same problem but after doing that my wife said she can hear me really well

I increased the volume in the head unit, and on my iPhone. It wasn't me hearing them that was the issue (I could hear them fine), it was the mic that was the issue. It was, or is....shitty.

    I kept getting two complaints:

    1) "Are you driving with the windows open? I hear a lot of noise!"
    2) "Speak up, I can barely hear you. It sounds like you're whispering."

Now that I un-paired my phone and use the old school ear buds; the sound & mic is excellent.

I'm not talking about the head unit volume but the mic volume (mic sensitivity to be exact). If they hear too much background noise, maybe you need to lower the mic sensitivity?

Wow, looks like a dead thread but I'm having issues with my 2024 TRD pro as well when connected to a pixel 8 pro. SiriusXM playing through the cars antennae is decent quality, bass is okay and all that, I usually keep the volume around 30 with the windows down and it sounds fine, but once I use Bluetooth or even wired usb connection the volume drops like a rock. I can have the volume set on max and drive comfortably with the windows up, and there is next to no bass. I use Spotify premium, have the settings on hifi and bass boost turned on in the app, and volume on my phone on max, withe windows down it's not really loud enough for me. I believe max is around 62? So even with a 30 point volume difference it's less than through the car? Any have any thoughts?

Do you use Spotify or another app for your music?

Connect the phone. Play a music and push the phone volume button up. Do the same with during phone calls. The iPhone volume is tricky because it adjusts the volume of the current application or if it’s locked maybe the ringtone.

In a 23 model you should use wired CarPlay. My Tidal app actually tells me when I’m on Bluetooth that sound quality is compressed via wireless connection.
The other reason can be the iPhone hearing protection settings. Turn it off. I’m using Tidal and cannot push the volume over 15. Disable any loud noise reduction on the phone and the Toyota head unit.

Okay, so took me a few trips to remember to do this but as stated earlier with volume on phone and stereo on MAX sound is very low, there must be another reason for this, on both Bluetooth and usb connection max volume on everything is comfortable enough to drive with windows up, in fact I find it a little lacking ( I do like loud music though). Directly through the stereo I haven't been able to take it max as it's gets almost uncomfortably loud around 46 with the windows down (max is 62). Has anybody else had this issue?

Or question, has anyone had better luck with another app for streaming?
