Yes. The plugs are included to keep the attachment grommets clean.

I'll provide my initial thoughts after spending the weekend hauling the kids around for a soccer tournament. The quality is much superior to the OEM all-weather mats. I like the flexibility of the material versus the harder plastic of a Weathertech. The fit is nearly identical to the OEM with the advantage of having a nice raised lip to catch water/mud. I do wish the drivers side went further up under the gas pedal but understand that it's a safety issue. This spot always gets nasty from tracking junk in the car.

When I arrived home from camping on Sunday, they had arrived. I need to vacuum and prep before switching them. Give me a few days or so, and I’ll post up some thoughts

I think that it's a nice idea and gesture to do some real-world testing of your new product within this group - kudos to you folks. I'm interested in what your testers will report back. As someone who just bought floormats for my new 4Runner, here's some unsolicited feedback just from the photos - The lack of a lip extending over the door sill is a serious shortcoming - this helps to keep the carpet area there from getting filthy from not only snow and water, but also mud, dust, and fine gravel & pebbles. Covering the entire sill area and carpet all the way along the entire front door area would be ideal. Side walls should be as tall as possible - leaving carpet exposed just means more cleaning later (I live in a rural area and work & play outside - I probably deal with more dirt and "schmutz" than many of your target customer base). Keep up the good work - I wish you great success.

I was going to wait before stating this, I had weather techs in my Taco, hated the lip. Or more so the stiffness of it. It didn’t look right, and often I would end up dragging my foot on it. That being said, when my daughter need floor mats, we ordered Weather tech with out a question.

feedback: first impressions-disappointed that the drivers side doesn’t cover more. Feel like the rear covers more. And the plugs are great.

after comparing picts: drivers looks to be less on dead pedal, same under pedals.. Rear does cover more under the front seats.

I like the look, and the material looks quality, but they don't have anywhere near the coverage of my LASFITs, and cost about 50% more.

Thanks for the feedback. Here are both side by side so everyone can compare the coverage and price. With discounts Baselayer is 19% more with current promotions. Baselayer is a US manufacturer providing high quality products for the Gen5 4Runner with a lifetime warranty. LASFIT seems to be very popular and made in China. Images below are from Amazon today.

This morning I noticed the lip on the edges as I got in. You can see where my muddy foot dragged on it, but I never noticed like I did with weather techs. The dirt seems to be staying on the mat.

i'd prefer they go higher and extend past the sill plate for more coverage. with black interior, every little bit helps to keep it clean and i'm a stickler about my 4runner.

Just checking in to get your current thoughts on your Baselayer floor liners. I am sure there has been some use and abuse after some crazy spring weather.

the BaseLayers look really good. And I'm glad they do NOT have the great big lip like WeatherTech. I really don't need my floor mats to hold 2 gallons of snow/mud/ice… WeatherTech brags about using a laser to fit the mats. But I think their laser is very old and being aimed from very far away… maybe from space.

The Baselayer mats still have a raise lip around the perimeter for debris containment. The edge of the Baselayer mat tucks tightly against the door sill to prevent catching your foot on the stiff edge of the pictured mats. The TPE material is also much more flexible in all temperatures to lay flat on the floor and not curl up.

So as I am looking at your site, i see in ordering for a 2017 no black choice, only grey or maybe pink. I love pink but not in floor mats.

I’ll take photos and clean in a month or so before we head out for our June travel. My wife still hasn’t been in the runner since I switched, so I’m still waiting to hear her thoughts. I will say, I have thought about putting my yota drivers side back in, but I like the look of the passenger side and don’t want two different mats up front. And that’s because every time I realize I’m resting my foot on the dead pedal, I remember these mats don’t go up as far and I think I’m getting the carpet dirty. The seem to be working as expected.

I am still loving mine. They look and function awesome. They will not wrinkle up like the other brand. Wife comments on them every time she rides. I wish you had them on 2nd gen Tacoma , I'd be in for two sets.

There are two color choices on the logo, grey and red. The red matches the TRD Pro red accents.

Farmer here in Colorado. I will post pictures of your mats after a few days of work right next to our farm equipment. First thought is why the grommet caps? Takes more time to remove and reinstall in my opinion. Anyhow, I'll send some sweet pictures of those mats growing food for all of us!

Greetings from Colorado! Don't see many "working" 4Runners.

The grommet caps are optional. They just keep the crud out of the twist locks. People like the little extra protection.

Thanks for asking but we are good for now. The 3 testers have shared comments and pictures. I updated the first post with links to their comments. We do have a forum discount with the current code in our signature.

quality post here...nice to see "MADE IN THE USA"

Another poster posted pics of his LASFIT mats, I liked them, and ordered them from Amazon...
today I noticed they are "shipment delayed" so no idea when I'll get my Chinese mats...

I also looked at TuxMat, they are shipped from leafistan, and also made in china...and even more expensive when one considers $USD vs $CAD exchange
    ($209USD & $285CAD)

I appreciate a company who makes stuff in the USA, and further appreciate one who becomes a vendor here and asks for folks to consider his products.

I'm not buying floor mats every month, so less concerned with price than quality and protection offered.

I appreciated your post comparing LASFIT and your product side by for coverage...
Have you compared your product with the Toyota all weather mats here?

We appreciate your consideration on where you choose to spend your money.

Here is a side by side view of Baselayer next to the TRD version of the OEM mats. I believe the TRD version and the standard OEM are the same profile with the difference being the tread design on the TRD mats. One of the testers had OEM mats and posted before and after pics.

The Baselayer mats have a few differences. The texture is appealing cosmetically and it provides a non slip surface when wet. The sidewall coverage is higher and the rolled edge profile prevents catching your foot on the lip of the OEM mat. You can get a red or gray logo to match your interior. The grommet covers are included to keep the crud out of the twist locks.
