On a side note, this works on the 4.0 T4R and the 3.5 Tacoma.

Looking for a solution to attach my I-phone 7+ to my vent. I had the perfect magnetic set up on my 16' Tacoma but have not found a magnetic vent style phone holder as yet.

This is my favorite magnetic mount if you need the vent for taking on and off for different vehicles: Car mount. Installed the TRD Pro grille and garnish on my SR5 last night. Also destroyed many, many clips.
More here, for those planning this mod...
Next up, cross rail install and then plastidip on the lower valence.

Installed pro grill, with orange marker lights. Next is 2 in 1 led fogs/drl and led low and high beams. And led inside. Planning on powder coating the silver parts of the bumpers soon too.

Cheap EBAY lights. Ordered enough to do probably 5 trucks for 20 bucks. Bright, no flicker, zero failures.

Hey Everyone, "life" and "responsibility" got in the way of my roof rack search. But I got a few moments to narrow things down. I am very interested in the BAJA utility flat rack with the spy light system. Does anyone have one mounted?

I am also interested in the "oil change" discussion. My dealer wants me back every 5K for tire rotate and 10K for oil change. I thought I misheard but he made it loud and clear...10K oil changes. It still doesn't sit right. Are the Synthetics really that good?

I did my first oil and filter change at 2k, I will do it again at 5K, and every 5K after that. I used OEM Toyota synthetic oil and filter and I will probably stick to that as long as I own it. I personally will not go 10K on oil, synthetic or not.

I'll do 10k on my 4runner.. even if I was raised the 3-5k interval.. I understand how it works and I also understand it's wasting a lot of money to change it every 5k using synthetic.. the new motors are built for synthetic.. the newer synthetic are built to make motors reach up to 10k without changing it.. it's up to u.. I never had any issues with my older vehicles running it at 10k using synthetic..

I can't argue, it's just cheap peace of mind for me. Oil can never be too fresh or too clean. I'll likely only put 5K on my 4R a year so that $55 is well worth it to me.

Well, the dealer does them for free for 25k. (I know, I know, it should be 30K! Dealers..what can I say?) I have looked into the tech side and it all sounds good. But what engineers think and what happens in the real world rarely jive. That's why I turn to the wisdom of this community!

They do 2 oil changes free. They will do them at 10k and 20k, they will not do them sooner. Dealer mechanics are generally pretty bad, I don't trust them in general. I have been a mechanic for 20 years, working on cars with my dad for many years before that. I do everything myself.

That is correct and that is what Toyota suggest also for their Tacoma's. With my 16' Tacoma I just brought them the Mobil 1 and had them change it while they did the routine 5k service. I will do the same with the 4R. By the way that is what Mercedes does also but I'm not there yet.

Looks good! Where'd you get the grill and the marker lights? I've seen posts on the grill before, but all the links seem to have expired.

Installed Rago brackets and 4" cube ditch lights. Weather tech mats. Cargo net. Cargo mat. Ordered Gobi rack with ladder.
Why don't you send a sample to Blackstone Labs and let them do a complete oil analysis at 10k miles and at 5k miles. Analyze the results and then we will all know which route is best.
