I just took delivery on a 2022 4Runner ORP. I plan to wear the stock Dueler tires out before getting a set of better tires. Those of you who ran your stock Bridgestone tires until they had to be replaced…how many miles did they last?

It depends on your driving and how often you rotate them. I had almost 40k on my 2015 and they still had tread. I put a take off set on my pickup and they were trash at 20k. If you want to replace them they’ll last forever.

The best laid plans, as they say - I had the same goal as you, wear those suckers out, then replace them with the tires I really wanted. A piece of road debris ruined one of my tires with about 3k on the set. A new oem tire was about $275 at Discount Tire, while a set of 4 Falken tires was $550 with the trade of the remaining good oem tires, with a tire warranty. Guess which option I went with...

welcome. i too have duelers that i am trying to wear out. 4700mi on them currently, looks pretty new actually. mostly highway miles. not the best tire obviously, but their cold weather performance was decent when the snow storms hit texas this past winter.

If you go off-roading, then get rid of them. They suck. I got 2 flats on opposite corners within 3 miles of one another on a fire road. I didn't hit anything. I had to drive 15 miles at 5 MPH to get back to the main road where I could get towed 2 labor days ago. Ended up costing me a rim and I had to spend $400 to get the tire replaced, that I took off the following week so I could get 4 KO2s.

Good news, my wife finally understood why I wanted different tires.

I had Bridgestone Duelers as stock on my previous car, a 2005 Honda CR-V. They were garbage in every regard......balance, treadwear, grip.

I have the same tires in my 2020 ORP. I have about 22k and they are 8/13th. So I anticipate about 40k miles out of the. Too bad bc I really want to get a set of Wildpeaks. I have take them offroad in Big Bend Ranch State park. No complaints. This was during summer 100F + temperatures. This was mostly un-un maintained dirt roads (notice the emphasis). They performed for what I needed.

I am getting my Duelers replaced in a few days. I have 92k miles on these right now on my 2019 TRDOR. For me they’ve been a great road tire - smooth-riding, good grip, decent in rain and ok in snow.

    Welcome!

You're easily going to get 40k out of those tires. If you know you want to replace them, personally I would just do it now.

If you wait until they're worn, they'll be worthless and you'll have to pay to get rid of them. Swap them now, and you can either sell them yourself and make some money back, or see if your tire shop will give you a trade in credit. While the Dueler is not a popular tire with enthusiasts, the 4R size also fits many other vehicles.

Btw, mine came with the Dueler HT's. If you don't off-road or deal with snow, they're a decent tire. Quiet, smooth, and I was able to consistently get 22mpg on trips.

Had Bridgestone stock tires on an '18 SR5 4wd I traded in last January with 64k miles.

Still had a little tread left before getting into the cross rib mark......was thinking I needed to get some tires in 6 months or so.
