Mileage Just showed up on Toyota app for the first time

Mine was "A" while sitting in port. I believe F is when it gets on the train.

 

I sure hope so. Mine has to travel from Houston to Dallas (6 hours), so hopefully it just hops on a truck and goes straight there instead of a train.

 

Then it's definitely on the ground being played around with. I don't think the status can be trusted all that much.

 

That's what I'm thinking. I'm only stressing over it because I'm moving next weekend, currently have a Tesla, and no efficient way to charge at my new house. That's one of the reasons I'm swapping it for the truck. That and I'm just hella excited to finally have one after wanting one since I was 16.

 

This is correct based on my experience. It will remain in A status from the time it gets a permanent VIN in Japan until the time it leaves the port on the US side. Freight status is when it leaves the port and gets on a train and Ground status is when it is on a truck very close to the dealership and will arrive within 1-2 days. Again, this is all based on my personal experience tracking mine throughout the journey and cross-referencing the statuses with the information the dealer provided. Also learned a lot reading through the Rav4 forums (since that group seems to geek out on this stuff way more than us 4Runner peeps) and helping others track theirs.

 

Agreed. They've already made some changes to make it slightly less accessible.

Man all you guys getting VINs, I wish I had my VIN my dealer says they only get it a few days before delivery.

I don’t know seems that’s the case in Canada with Toyota. I still don’t believe it though.

 

It's possible they do things a bit differently up there.

 

If one were so inclined to search the Internet for something like "toyota vehicle status api", and open the top toyota.com link, one will see an "API Overview" and an "Execute API" page.

After you obtain your own registration & get your VIN, use the "Execute API" page to find sample code for 8 languages and also for the curl command.

These Public Vehicle Info DCS pages do not display fully in English for me - there's also some Italian on the pages. Weird.
"Richiesta di esempio" translates to "Sample Request".

That one doesn't seem to work for me. Doesn't even give a Unauthorized or Forbidden, just a Not Found error.

 

Still in A status. Once it goes to F, the ETA will show up. I can check on it periodically for you if you send me a PM to remind me.

 

They have updated their API developer pages since my last post, prior to your checking, now you need to login to view the API information.
