I've only had my '22 ORP since November, so not much has been done yet. When I bought this, sadly the first thing that kept me up at night, was the damage my dogs were going to do to the interior. My 2013 Honda Pilot 2nd row was trashed by the time I traded it in. So for two months my dogs haven't had a single ride, until I figured it out; and today I put the last piece into place. A buddy suggested Rixxu's seat cover, which was definitely worth every penny. My Dane's claws have torn through every other cover so far, but this one is holding up nicely. The other problem was the doors. All three of my dogs are heavy shedders/panters, and drool all over, and that stuff is a nightmare to get out. My wife found these door covers that attach by sticky velcro strips (which are garbage). I bought a roll of very sticky, reusable tape that def holds it in place w/o damaging the door. So far I'm loving it.

The small, round air filter is an upgrade to the intake of the Air Injection Pump. I saw the write up on how to do it on one of the 4R forums, or might have been T4R... The OEM filter is a chunk of foam inside the blower housing. Over time, with exposure to heat and oxygen, it gets "oocky" and sheds bits into the fan, and ultimately into the Air Valves, causing a VERY expensive repair. I saw where one person had issues with some of the red cotton shedding into the system, but I think that was a faulty filter, so I inspected the interior and used compressed air from the outside to chase out any leftovers from manufacturing.

thanks a million! exactly why I want the fogs with the DRL for foggy days in the bay area as well driving along the coast on HWY 1.. according to his steps, you would use a 3M wire tap and place that onto the white and grey spec wire.. while reading through his steps (unless I missed) he does not go back to the tap wire..
    link provided below with pics..

i'm far from a mechanic.. all mods I read on threads here and done.. for example.. dash speaker upgrade, TRD pro grille, changing out LEDS, etc etc..

Does this mod mean you can turn the fogs on even without the car being on though?

Where did you get the side door covers and what kind of tape did you use? Double sided I'm assuming? Does it leave any residue on the door though?
I tried gaffer's tape before which is supposed to have zero residue and that left a mess when taking it off.

So after I saw your mod with the little filter, I remembered I have a little K&N filter laying around. Fit real nice but also a bit longer and just hits the power steering reservoir. To bad. One thing I noticed while taking it apart, looks like toyota made a great deal making that intake so water doesn't get in. Intake inside and cover on top, just a guess on my part, any thoughts on that? 20220211_183225.jpg

no, not this mod and wire set up.. you can according to what I read but it would be more wires that would need to be cut and won’t auto turn off like the headlights do when you lock your car..

for sure man glad to offer some assistance. It doesn’t have to be 3M specific wire tap. I picked up a box of them at autozone but you can get them anywhere. The wire the is tapped in(in his pic, it’s the wire lead he says “we will do more with this later”). That wire gets a female spade connector on it and it is then connected to the new relay that you installed.
His paper diagram that he posted at the end has a great picture of where each wire goes.

the wire tap is purely to tap in a new wire, it’s an easy way of adding it in instead of having to cut n splice and all of that.

respond if this isn’t clear or if I missed your question. I am happy to offer assistance man.

ok I "think" I got it, lol..
makes more sense since you mention the female spade connector..I will add that to the list to buy.. (1) relay, (1) wire tap, (2) mini fuse circuits/fuse, (1) female spade connector.. please correct/mention anything else..

    other QS..

it looks like I will also need to buy 16ga wire to extend the brown and black wires..? In addition, the black wire mentioned going to the ground, what do I need to connect to the end of the "black" wire as show in ANTMANs.. looks red above the bolt?

Thank you. I'm still a little pissed at them right now. We were catching up on some DVR time last night and every time a commercial came on hyping the AFC championship game I flipped off the TV and my fiance yelled at me to stop it.

Got the AJT knobs and finally had time to install them, didn't really like the color choice screws, got them with black, but went to local hardware store and got stainless. Stands out a little bit more.

Installed the Voodonala Door Shelf Extenders, https://www.amazon.com/Voodonala-4R...1712&sprefix=voodonala+4runner,aps,248&sr=8-4 so I can actually use the shelf for something...
Also install the arcLight Red/White Hatch Lights. Followed the install from T4R with no problems. Used my flex-shaft Dremel with a 1/8 milling cutter to make the switch holes.
And right now the entire dashboard center and console cover are re-kitted for installing the ICS Dash Mount and replacing the Death Stick Socket with a nice high power dual USB port. Gonna make a nice custom wiring harness to hook it all up... I am no fan of splice taps period, and especially not where they are buried...

You will end up needing 4 x female space connectors total to connect all of the points on the relay. Everything you listed will come in boxes so you'll have plenty.
make sure you get 4 x 15A MINI fuses to put in the mini fuse taps after replacing them in the factory slot. It'll make sense once you're in there.
I used 14 gauge wire and ended up having to make 4 lengths out of it, I used a standard butt connector from the brown and black wires to the new lengths of wire. as far as the ground, just grab a terminal connector (link below to an example). it is a 10mm bolt so grab one that will fit that. Any auto store will have all of this.

You do NOT have to unplug that little connector that is under the steering column with the brown and black wires, just snip the wires and leave enough room on either side if for some reason you want to reconnect. In antmans post he did but then he posted later that he wanted everyone to for the "right of passage" haha. It is not necessary.

I think this is everything. When in doubt buy an extra so you don't have to make an extra trip, then just return what you dont use. Any other questions man just hit me up.

Lastly, pick up a pair of those electrical wire strippers.

Today I pulled a Ford F350 60 feet out of a snow drift in Wyoming.. Halfway between Fort Collins and Laramie WY. my passages shit bricks as I braked on the glare ice with 50 miles an hour wind, backed up across 2 lanes of Ice highway and drug that old pig back up on land.. I'm not sure who was more shocked it worked, him, me or my wifes truck luna.... sorry no photos. It was sketchy as shit.. we wantedback in our trucks before a semi leveled us all.

At first it looked ugly, then Luna found some sand or dirt under one tire and just dug in a pulled that fucking gigantic boat to safety. I had her in 4x4 high (never go to the big guns first) she was shitty with me until I shut off her traction control hard with the 3 sec hold. She seemed confused towing at that extreme angle. The moment I took power back.. it was fucking game on.... I toed him an extra 25 feet just to be a toyota dick saving an f350

I got that. I have one in my Tacoma. Where did you mount the panel in your 4Runner?
