    Hey gang

New to this forum, but not forums in general. I prostrate myself in the search of specific wisdom. Y'all are my brain trust.

Anyway, trying to help a friend with her 2006 4runner SR5
The latch mechanism in the rear hatch, it is missing a couple of key components. She has a 4mm pull string rigged to release the hatch.

I am desperately looking for an exploded view of the rear hatch innards so I can figure out what is missing. I am not seeing any unused hardpoints to attach components to, there is a lever on yhe passenger side of the latch that clearly needs a pull cable attached to it. No extra cables laying around. I am thinking there needs to be a direct pull cable from the exterior handle to the latch...

Maybe someone can point me to a thread on this forum where someone has reassembled the rear hatch latching innards.

    Etc...

    TIA
