Hey der folks.... the front tires are showing signs of the inner tire blocks cupping. Was thinking of rotating them and see if it repeats, then asked self, why?
74k on the OD. all OEM trim.(Trail Edition) So looking at KYB 340085 for front and KYB 349185 the the back.
It looks like a simple process. Loosen the two bolts for the lower 'A' arm and remove the three top mount bolts and drop it down and out.
Anything over looked? tires are Cooper AT3s 265/70R17 with about 34-37k on them.
What I notice with vehicle parked in driveway is this: tires have light road dust and the inner tire blocks are dark and clean. Both on the inside blocks. Not enough to feel the difference and do not want to let it get that far.
And being retired (read really cheap ol fart) just want to restore OEM ride and keep vehicle maintained. The CFO is 5' even and she grumbled on the new ATs.
Got by with telling her its all they had. So (lol) stock OEM is what goes back.
Now if you all say yup need new struts.
Anyone with experience on this? Keep old springs or get with new springs?
If with spring do they normally have same thickness, specs as OEM?
Whew sorry for all the questions. But I'm just a maintenance guy. take care of them and use them.
My days of playing with vehicles are gone. Well not really but the homestead and farm equipment keeps me plenty busy. Ha
    OK, enough rambling.
Thanks folks......I'll be stopping on by later in the week......

Hmm. I wouldn't think that worn shocks would cause tire cupping. How is your alignment? I'm thinking alignment and/or associated bushings for that.

OE shocks at 75k... they're probably starting to feel less than ideal, but I doubt they're completely shot at this point. Replace them now, or wait another 10-20k if you must. I think the OE springs are OK until after 100k, at least. Unless you do dirt road driving very often.

Alignment Hm, well that got me to take some pics. For you long time owners how bad do these look?
These are sealed and not sure if they need to be replaced or are part of the tire wear problem.
So hopefully these pics will help someone with a keen eye.
    Thanks...!
