Blue Sea sells a safety block for $98.00. There are 6 slot fuse blocks on Amazon for much less. It appears to me the Blue Seas safety block is nothing more than a fuse block. So is there something special about it that warrants the price difference? Or is there something about their safety block that makes it better than a standard fuse block?

The safety block might have a breaker built in

Also, any product associated with Marine activity comes with a higher price due to mandated safety standards - likely overkill for your application.

The Blue Sea safety hub has regular low amp fuses like a normal fuse block but also has slots for high amp MIDI/AMI fuses up to 200 amps. For most accessories a ST blade series fuse block is all that is needed.
