Previous owner installed a glass pack or cherry bomb (not really too familiar with the terminology yet). Its a bit loud for me.
To make her a little more quiet, all I need is a muffler, right? Or am I missing something?

Lol who installs those on a 4Runner?

But you are correct, assuming the rest of the piping is good and some high-schooler didn't mess with anything else you can take that out of there and install something of your choosing.

You can probably get a local shop to weld in a new one with a muffler they provide for less than 200 bucks.

Rebuilt Engine MLS and ARP on the heads, DT Header, 2-1/2" CARB compliant Flow-Master CAT with 2.0" Bosal CAT back Dayco 1-1/4" Spacers, SkyJacker M-Series Monotube Shocks, Ball Joint Spacers. 95-9006 K&N Air Cleaner, G-Plus Alum Radiator, ZIrgo 16" Fan, Derale Temp switch/relay
We fabricated a 2-1/2" CAT-back with a FlowMaster Series 44 in the OEM location on my sons 90 T4R and it now has an awesome subtle rumble. Put the proverbial glass pack i.e a diesel perforated tube muffler that's 18" long in place of the CAT. That is how you make some horsepower.
