Looking for some guidance. I have a 1987 4runner with a brand new stage 2 engine from 22re performance. Vehicle currently runs a lce header, intake and battery have swapped sides, and I installed a 4 wire O2 sensor. I check all fluids and the general integrity of the vehicle after every drive. Maybe 150 miles on new engine.

Vehicle does not have a EGR system, all vacuum ports capped off. I do not have a high idle at start up and typically the rig will either fire up instantly or have a stumble start when warm, oil smells like gas, rough idle with a slight misfire, all spark plugs are black and oily, I unplugged the cold start injector to verify if it was stuck open or not when on. No change. When the truck is at idle it has a misfire and if I watch the voltage gauge occasionally i will hear a click and the voltage will go down as will the lights go dim.

New fuel pump, new fuel pressure damper it was stuck closed not allowing any fuel pressure, fuel pressure sits around 28-34psi i just keep the gauge installed. I was thinking small things like bad grounds, leaking CSI. All my injectors have a nice tick, spark pugs are new i suppose i need to check if I'm getting spark? But I do not get any miss above idle. Revs fine. I grounded the 02 sensor underneath on the driver side by the fuse box. I'm not very savvy with electronics so if their is a particular way to ground let me know please.

Well this seems to be all I can think of that is going on. I hope to hear anybody's response. Thank you.

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
I'm sorry to be so late, but I just joined last night...

There are a few phrases in your post that, to me, give away the whole ball o'wax...
To me, and I've had my 4Runner since '89, having replaced the head gasket, twice, the symptoms you describe scream blown head gasket and/or cracked head. If you're not ready to put on a new head and gasket set, let a professional mechanic do it.

As long as the negative post on the battery has good, heavy, wires coming off of it, with one going to the body, and one to the engine block, making sure they are both bolted/screwed onto BARE metal at both ends of each wire, you'll be in good shape. As well, there should be a decently heavy wire going from the HEAD to the body, again, clean, bare metal at both ends.
Then, to ground the O2 sensor, all you need is to find/create a small patch of bare metal someplace, whether on the body or the engine. Find a screw/bolt someplace near where you want the ground to go, make sure there's no paint, grease, or whatever, between the screw and the metal, and you're golden.

    Does this help any?
    Pat☺

Can you smell gas fumes when you open up the hood? I am curious if you replaced the injectors and o rings...if they leak from the high pressure it can seep into the cylinder and down the cylinder wall and into the oil...
