Time for both of you to change dealers IMO. My dealer has always acknowledged their screwups. Your dealers are hiring techs that dgaf! So your dealer dgaf! either
Write them and forward it to corporate why you are changing dealers. You all dont need to put up with that crap.

I agree... The first time I brought my rig to the dealership for the free maintenance...they complimented me on the mods and said see you next time... After hearing about the nightmare experiences... I have some appreciation for my dealership

The dealership where I get my free service is great. As with anything anywhere, there will always be some bad apples. Doesn't mean the entire industry is full of bad apples. Some dealerships actually treat you as if they want you as a repeat customer. And let's be honest, there are plenty of bad customers as well.

With that said, I won't be going back to them after my free services are complete. I just prefer to do maintenance myself and not have to pay crazy dealership markups.

I have bought 5 new toyotas from this dealership, going back nearly 20 years. My first car i bought myself after high school was a corolla from this very same dealership. Have had mostly very positive experiences. They did me real well on my 3 different tacomas, even after the lifts and tires. They never tried getting over on services, they were quick to do any TSBs that i asked about, and even fixed my leaf springs squeaking when other people on tacomaworld couldnt get their dealerships to do it....

Accidents happen, but the fact that they tried blaming my wife for the scratch was enough to really piss me off. I put vehicles on lifts nearly every day, and its not that difficult to be careless and ding a door, but you know it if you do it. Its not something you do without realizing. Even so, maybe the tech was careless, didnt own up to it, maybe another tech opened a door too close to my wifes car before/after it was on the lift, maybe the consultant didnt know about it...Theres no way for me to know who there is to really blame... if not ALL OF THEM.

All that being said, i will likely continue to use them for both my wife and my free services and warranty work, being as they are the only dealership within an hour distance, but my wife and i will ask for a THOROUGH walk around inspection at each drop off and do another before we get in the car to leave.

Fair enough. It sucks when people don't own up to things like that, and very frustrating as well.

They called yesterday and said new parts where in, went in this morning and got them installed. Full brand new mirror, including bottom piece, and no more whistle.

About to put 3K miles on it during TX,NM, And CO road trip. I’ll see how my 10k free maintenance goes before I go driving a long way to a different dealer, but I agree if they are shit again no more.

Added mini Seatbelt Extenders to the front seats, and switched out the Shifter knob with a all Black TRD one. Also added a console Tray.

I added some LFD cross bars.

Two things to note...the wind noise is very loud (more noisy than the motor at 2k rpms) and I plan on ordering a third bar and fairing in the next few months. And the second is to spend the extra money of the stainless steel cause I chipped a few areas when installing them. I live in NY so salt longevity is a must for me. Great stuff and I love the amount of options it provides without replacing the whole roof rack.

Man they are that noisy? I was thinking about a set of LFD or Victory 4x4 rails. Was hoping they wouldn't be that bad with just two(I mean the factory rails are just two and they can't be that noisy).

I don’t wanna knock the product too much because I really like them a lot and very happy I purchased them. But they are noisy...it sounds like Seal Team Six is landing on my roof above 50mph...sorry I know that’s a very dramatic statement. All kidding aside they make significant noise but I think a fairing is going to make this a non-issue. And IMHO I wouldn’t let the noise stop me from buying them again. It’s just the nature of the beast (square bar sitting a few inches above the stock rails...there is no way that wasn't going to create a lot of noise).

Looking to get a new ditch light switch for the used harness and lights I bought. I've heard of Air on Board and CH4x4... Anyone have experience with those? Is one better than the other?

You should contact Jacob at LFD and see if he has any tips on decreasing the noise. They have very good customer service and I'm sure they are aware of things like this so he may be able to help. He helped me with the noise on my full rack and it solved all the issues.

I emailed with him about the noise. They're great bars and they're up front about the noise. Apparently the aluminum ones are even louder and have a resonance sound. They were working on a solution awhile back. Sounds like maybe the fairing is the answer.

I actually had bought, unbeknownst to me, the 3rd ever produced all aluminum full rack. Since it came out they made changes to the configuration cuz I had a horrible noise and vibration starting at 60 mph. Turns out I needed to have a steel front fairing and two steel crossbars somewhere in the mix to increase rigidity. Jacob overnighted me the new fairing and cross bars and all is good up to 80mph. (didn't see the point in going past 80)/
