Aftermarket conversion 5 to 7 seats

I have a 2010 limited 4 runner with a bench seat and sliding trey in the back. Can I have a 3rd row or additional seats installed? If so, how?

I remember seeing a thread just a few days ago where someone did just this. Looks really nice, but took a lot of labor. Not sure if it was this forum or another, but I will link you up if I see it again.

The TL;DR is basically this: if you like* big projects, you can do it; otherwise, if you need a 3rd row you're best off selling and buying new.

*I mean, really, really like them

 

Oh, I did find that thread, but he actually bought a 3rd row and ripped them out to make a 2 row and gave away his 3rd row (and said that effort wasn't worth it). I think the issue with the 3rd row is finding new bolt positions, fabricating brackets, and adding the seat belts (in addition to removing the flooring and installing the actual 3rd row that you found from someone who removed it from their vehicle).

Anyway, same conclusion. You definitely can do it, but you probably shouldn't want to do it.

 

If Lexus can do it on the same platform... it can be done.
Like stated. Looks like a lot of work!
