My advice would be not to wait. My wife and I moved back here from Brooklyn a decade ago. We call it pre-tirement. Long Boat Key is beautiful. Look up Manasota Key as well. Just a bit farther South. Really nice, but I think it got hit hard by one of the hurricanes last year. Cheers!

Front windshield tint is against the rules here in NC, but as they are eliminating window tint on 12/1 as part of the annual safety inspection I finally had it added. Was concerned the front would have the same checkerboard look as the rear (while wearing polarized sunglasses), but several members here explained that only happens with the rear. Glad to have it added, has already made a huge difference on the heat and I only went with 70%.

looking good! The winshield and rear are 2 different types of glass. Laminated safety glass vs tempered glass.

Viofo A329 2ch dash cam install complete with the hardwire kit. And the DS grab handle is installed with Jason's bracket. The grab handle is a much-needed part.

No issues with the install of the dashcam, the hardwire kit was fairly simple to install. I used a short piece of #12 wire to pull the wiring down under the dash. I routed it through an opening at the front of the A pillar next to the windshield. Used the add-a-fuse taps for constant power and switched (ACC) power, all seems to be working properly. The hardest part of the job was coiling up the excess wire and zip tying it out of the way under the dash. It required some bodily contortions that older people shouldn't do. Aleve was required.

I pulled the memory card and looked at the video files, video is clean and clear from both cams. There were some reflections from the hood showing up, so I twisted the filter on the front cam to try and get rid of them. I'll pull the card again and see if that was successful.

Next is to replace the non-OEM looking switches for the 2 front LED lightbars, and rewire them both to use relays instead of wiring directly through the switches. While the lower dash is apart, I'll install a redarc trailer brake controller, and I'm going to relocate a couple of switches too.

Installed the LFD Offroad ruggedized crossbars. Super easy install, didn't even have to pop off the plastic trim pieces. Went with stainless steel as the carbon steel ones probably would have corroded after a year or two in the Wisconsin climate. They don't go above the antennae height either which is good considering my low garage clearance

Looks like plenty of clearance under the front fairing.

That’s a good looking setup ratcoon, that might move up my list of mods I would like to do.

If I end up driving mine more I would probably just get an aftermarket skid plate with a removable window for filter in addition to drain plug. But so far my off road time has been less rock-garden than some so until then.

I put on a set of Bilstein B6 4600’s on the rear back in April and several thousand miles later I saw the passenger side one had blown and was dripping oil on the ground.

Just installed it’s replacement and am going through RockAuto’s warranty procedure now.

A couple of days ago I saw a post here about reusing the plastic piece that fits ahead of the stock skid plate, modifying it for use with the TRD skid plate (and maybe others). I didn’t bookmark it, and can’t seem to find it now. Can one of you point me in the right direction?

Decided I’m not a great painter and gave up on refinishing a cheap set of overlays - bought a set of the 40th Anniversary Bronze Overlays. Now I have to buy a PRO grill to use the heritage letters that came with the set :D
