    I'm just going to add that it is important to buy name brand, rated recovery gear. Not cheap Junk off of Amazon, buy the stuff that the pros use. You may never have to use it, but if you do it could be a matter of life or death.

    @Trail Runnah for those who are new to all this, can you elaborate please?
    What are the reliable name brands that the pros use?
    What about the ratings? For shackles? Straps? Kinetic ropes?

    That was debunked in that thread. The rear hoop is sized for recovery. Hell, the front hoops on 4th gen Tacos and 6th gen 4R are the same size and attach the same way, and they're finally advertised by Toyota as recovery points.

    I reread the whole thread today. Must have missed the debunking. Can you point me to it please? I only balk at the notion because the construction of the front loops and rear loops are really different.

    Ya no I agree, if we’re talking about the rear hooks..I don’t care what YouTube or threads say, doesn’t the manual explicitly state do not use rear hooks for recovery (because sure they might work ok, until the time the dont)
