For years I thought water dripping on the frame directly under OEM A/C wasn't an issue because it is in perfect condition, paint intact and no rust. I was wrong because I checked in wrong place. Follow same frame rail all the way under front passenger area, run your hand on the top of that frame portion and be amazed how much damage your A/C drain done already. Spray some rust convertor and/or fluid film there and reroute that drain hose as described by many in this post. Don't worry about blockage potential or narrowing via connector; remember this mod is easily reversible or disconnect-able for obstruction repair.

 

Out of Curiosity. Bought the black connector and reinforced 1FT Fuel hose from O'Reilly. About $8 total
The staff was so rude and lazy. Not eager to make money for the company.

I had to search for part number myself online and force them to look inside the storage.

It wasn't on any shelf display.

 

I was thinking the same thing about mold as I was reading this thread, it can build up quickly in a vehicles AC system. Instead of using a barb to connect the the two hoses together you can can get a larger diameter hose and use it as a coupling to make the connection instead.

 

Why not just use the larger diameter hose as the drain extension?

I did that on my taco. you have to kinda find a spot and route where a clamp isn't needed. cuz when you clamp it like that the inner tube gets crumpled.

 

That makes sense to eliminate the connector between the 2 hoses.

 

I shoved one of these in the bottom of the hose. Overkill probably but it wasn't too expensive.

if youre using a 3/8” ID and 1/2” OD coupler, its the same size inside, so no restriction

 

Amazon has the 3/8” plastic connectors. 5 for $6

 

Looks like that will get clogged with road debris quick

 

I am the OP, Oreillys has the brass connector for $3. I went with the brass connector. O'Reillys also just cut the tubing to length for me. You have to buy a foot but I just had them cut it to 10"
