Made a little DIY “stealth” mount for behind the front bumper.

Combo’d with a 22” lightbar from Harbor Freight. Total cost of this project was about $130 + some odds and ends from my workshop. After getting the lightbar, I looked online at pre-fabbed mounts and saw that they cost more than what I paid for the lightbar and wiring kit. Went to Home Depot and picked up 3’ of perforated steel tube and two 6” steel L-brackets. In retrospect, I would have went with aluminum tube, but I was determined to build this on the cheap.

I’ve heard really good things about these lights and for that price, I couldn’t resist taking on a project.

I used the Adams Advanced Graphene spray coating last year. It lasted about a year.

I figured if I was going to do all the work to polish it, might as well go with the real deal that should last a few years.

I used Meguiar's Ceramic Coating, it lasted around 3 months, Turtle Wax Ceramic lasted less than two months even though it stated lasting 12 months and Jimbos Tough as Shell which lasted less than 2 months. I'm looking for something that will hold up under the Tucson sun.

Wolfgang SiO2, tremendous product. I used the previous Wolfgang for probably 15 years, their stuff is legit. I apply about 3 times a year, over the past 15 or so, and my 2013 graded out at 97% at 10 years.

Direct sun with no shade is going to degrade anything fast. I wonder how ppf would fare.

Removed the hideous pro rack and put on oem rails. I cannot explain how much better it looks. I never “liked” the pro rack but it didn’t bother me enough over the last couple years. Finally a few weeks ago I was looking at it and I had read a post someone said it looked like a receding hair line…….yup. Found some oem rails and couldn’t be happier.

Regarding the pro rack removal - I used a breaker bar and carefully broke each one loose. No heat Then used a large 1/2 drive ratchet going back and forth. No issues. I see a lot of videos people using tiny dinky ratchets and can’t budge them and they eventually strip. Just use the right tools and take your time. I didn’t care for the brackets under the pro rack - when I popped them off, small amts of paint came off too. Oh well it’s covered but still crappy Toyota paint.

are pro racks still in demand? Should I sell or hang it as garage as useless wall art?

I've been busy at work, but I did find time to install/upgrade the stereo. I went with the Alpine speaker kit w/ subwoofer for under the passenger's seat.

    $2.73 at Walmart for me.

Got the 10K oil change and tire rotation done.

Who was it that just posted about re-routing the AC line so it's not dripping on the frame? Please let me know of materials list. I'll let my personal mechanic do that for me at the 15K oil change.

    Thanks!

Preparing an electrical upgrade/re-wire today. Got rid of the OEM battery terminals and installed a set of SDHQ billet terminals. This will make adding on additional auxiliary circuits much easier and cleaner.

It’s an easy one, ma’am. I think I spent about 15 minutes with it, max.

Only if you're short. The only other available sleeping area is a loveseat.

That reminds me... I need to drop hints again to one of the Partners in my Firm. He has a place in Key West, right next to the Naval base. Everybody on his team gets to use his place when they want and I'm hoping he'll extend the courtesy to me.

....or at least bring me back some authentic Key Lime Pie!
