Holup... Someone bought it and traded it in after only 800 miles, or is it like a demo/loaner car from a dealership? Frankly if I was looking at it I don't know which is more preferable....

    In any case, 54k for a pre-owned Sport....yikes....

Hagerty's Drivers Club magazine has a nice write up.IMG_1532.jpgTook them 16 years to make!
317 lb-ft of torque which peaks at 1700rpm?
Wait the Hybrid has 465 lb-ft of torque?

Yeah the combined torque figures are impressive...

But I'd give the a couple years to work the kinks out personally.

I really, really hate those wheels. The 5th gen ORP wheels (which I have on my 2024 Limited) aren't the best looking wheels ever, but those 6th gen wheels are horrible IMO.

I saw a “25 TRD Sport pass by me from the oncoming direction. At first I wasn’t sure if it was a Tacoma or 4Runner. It resembles a 4Runner but wasn’t overly exciting.

I missed out on a sweet 3rd gen today by one buyer ahead of me. That got me excited.

For at least 55k plus tax judging by the going rate of the TRD Sports in my area, the buyer will be too pro-occupied with the monthly payment to worry about the wheels.

2014 Neglected by the previous owners 2020 is an abused former rental... 2023 New I've been buying above my pay grade ☹️
The poseur-mobile folks will afford it somehow. Skipping a few oil changes and regular maintenance should help.

I drove by Toyota Escondido this evening... A sea of Tonka-faced trucks made with Lego sets... Except for one... A Land Cruiser. A tool amongst toys, a model amongst street meat and a Les Paul amongst kazoos.

Eh, nevermind, it's probably got that shitty powertrain...

The LC250 is a handsome vehicle, no doubt about it, I like it much better than how Toyota "updated" the 4runner. The powertrain is what it is. If people buy them then Toyota is happy. If people don't buy them then they will pull the plug again and blame it on Americans not wanting Land Cruisers like they did last go around with the J200.

The last good-looking Land Cruiser was in 2021. Used ones in my area are selling for $55-78K.

That’s inline with the platinum I saw at the auto show. I was hoping that was just because it was preproduction, but now looks to be a product of the hybrid battery weight.
    It’s ridiculous

Hauling that heavy ass battery around just to give some extra torque seems like a really dumb idea. It really sucks that the LC only comes that way.

Yeah. If the purpose is power, the reduced payload makes it pretty pointless.

Based on the overall reaction to the new 4Runner, maybe Toyota should just discontinue it and offer the LC250 in a non-hybrid trim, with a manual transmission option. I don't know how well it would actually sell. But, I'm sure it would be appealing to some of the members here

If you havent already seen one, wait till you come around a corner and see a new well equipped Lexus GX550 with color matched plastics turning a corner or sitting in a parking lot. They are SHARP looking in comparison to the 4R and LC. Its crazy its almost the same thing just a differently sculpted body. Its way more manly than the LC even though the basic outer shell is almost the same. The proportions and lines are crazy close, the fenders are so close i would venture to say they are almost identical.

I’d take a non-hybrid LC250 over a 6th gen non-hybrid for sure. Only thing I’d miss is the rear roll down window.

The GX definitely looks better but it’s too expensive for me. I don’t trust the V6 engine either.

Trouble with finding one of those is of course, Toyota has been moving at a snail's pace cranking them out even before the recent trade issues. I have yet to see one in person even though in my area GX460s are all over the place.

I've seen 2 or 3, and they look really nice!

For me, it's a toss-up between the GX and LC (regarding aesthetics).

In Middle East and some SEAsia markets it is also available with the 4 cylinder gas without hybrid.

I think I agree with you.

But man is that roll down rear window ever important to me for what ever reason.

My 4R when I try to convince it I won’t miss the rear window:

My daughter wanted to go to the LuLu store yesterday so we made the hour+ trip over to the state capitol into the upscale fancy district and i saw two yesterday. An all black with color matching fender flares and tinted windows and it was TITS! It was pouring rain and i couldnt get a picture to show up worth anything. I also saw the gold/green with painted flares lifted on what appeared to be 17s and 35s as well. I caught a trailing pic of the goldish colored one but its not a great pic. I also happened to see a 4th gen Limited with Nightshade 20s pulling one of those muck boats. This is probably some guys duck hunting rig, the basket rack on top is most likely for the big bag of decoys. This was the side of town where everybody is in a Denali or Escalade at the outlet mall, no Cutlass square bodies and Caprices in sight.

Especially now that I’ve discovered what I call the “ultimate mode”. Tilt the sunroof and crack the back window. You get a breeze with no turbulence. It’s wonderful.

I parked next to a Rock Creek Pathfinder yesterday that had Toyo AT3 tires on it. It looked nice. Much better than the 6th gen. I was trying to convince the wife to get one for her next vehicle when a Grenadier pulls into the lot. She asked what’s that? and then says I want one. :D

I went to the dealer to get some filters and got to see a 4runner and LC250 side to side to side. The 6th gen 4runner hasn’t really grown on me…at all. And it’s annoyingly big on the outside. The styling is just over the top, both interior and exterior. Worst thing is that I don’t think something that trendy is going to age well. Especially for most buyers that will probably be on the “mature” side of life.

The LC250 on the otherhand, mildly handsome, understated, and unoffensive. The interior design is just right in my eyes, and the cloth seat material is perfect. Call me old, but if I wanted a long term car, I’m ok with all those things. You won’t hate looking at it in 10 years. Well, the exposed plastic cowling plastic makes up like 1/5th of the surface area of the hood area and will look like faded crap in 10 years, but that should be easy enough to paint black if it comes to that .

But even if I had to replace my 4runner (perish the thought) I don’t think I could stomach the hybrid. But if toyota offered a non-hybrid LC250 with front and center lockers and sway disconnect think I could get honestly excited about the idea! Actually, I’d probably be all over the idea considering the extra height available in the back.
