This is my setup. I think these are the trail wheels. Fits perfect with no spacers.

+15 is the offset of your FJ/trail wheels. From the looks of the reuslts the position of the tire is only slightly inward and most of the girth your losing in tire width is on the outside..

Looks like I am going with 255/75/17 - I don't want E load, so I can go a tiny bit smaller and get Toyo AT3s in C load. I've got a Pro with Pro wheels ('24) so I think I would be struggling with the 255/80 anyways. 275/70 is the only other option I am considering.

I was in the same boat as you, I considered skinnies but I like better the width of 265 and up. I wanted C load tires (absolutely didn't want E load).
Also didnt want to modify anything suspension wise for now (might get a small lift eventually with Eibach springs).

I started looking into 275/70 because its the perfect width IMO (not too wide, not too skinny) and slightly taller than stock without worrying about any other modifications (BMC, UCAs, etc..)
as far as I know wildpeak falken are the only ones that comes with load C in that size. I chose AT3W over the new AT4W because several people have said the AT4W are slightly worse in the snow and also I was able to find AT3Ws for $250 cheaper for 5 tires.
After install and alignment I had very minor rub at full lock in reverse. Most people wouldnt care but since I do offroad often and need all the space for articulation I trimmed ever so slightly the front fender for peace of mind (not noticeable).

I had them for about a few days and really happy so far. IMO all the offroad trims should have came in at least that size

Check this thread if you want to see pictures. I added some as well a few days ago

Just looked at your pics - those look great.
My big gripe is the Wildpeak AT3W is the weight. 57lbs vs 48lbs for the Toyo.....that's E load range weight right there.

Yes, anything that is not SL in a 275/70 is going to be heavy compared to pizza cutters. Even more more for the Falken Wildpeak like you said. I didnt care much about weight (even though lighter is obviously prefered).
My main concern with the E load was how stiff they ride compared to C load

If that is a big factor for you then skinnies are definitely better in that aspect.

But you can get a 33 10.50 in a 15 that's not too much wider and would have at least equal if not more amount of sidewall

My guess is because there is no market for it. Aside from a few of us goofballs who like skinnies on our trucks, the size is typically used on work/ utility trucks. They don't want a C-load tire for what they do.

The 255/80 was made for dually trucks, to have 3/4 and 1-ton capacity. Look at the rear tires of a F350 or F450 dually. That's the point of the 255/80, and that requires a stiffer, higher load carrying, sidewall.

My 255/80 AT3W's on my Runner has officially come to an end. A screw went into an unpatchable area, and since they are no longer being produced I had to decide on tires on the spot. I only had 1 OG AT3W left, 2 were warrantied out due to tread chunking off and the 3rd was my fault slicing a side wall on a rock. My OG tire had 58k miles and was at 6/32's, honestly had plenty of life left. Ended up ordering the Toyo Open Country RT Trails. Was debating going with the 255/85 Baja Boss' but didn't want to deal with fitment issues since it is my winter DD. Maybe next time.

Are the new KO2's 255/75? If so, have at it. If the 75 ratio is a different number, your differential (and your wallet) will hate you.
