What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

I'm sure the answer is yes I'm just verifying, Will a 265/70/17 in a m/t, on a completely stock 2018 4runner fit with no issues

 

I have the KO2 and they fit just fine. Occasionally rubbed when reversing with sharp turn other then that no issue.

 

So I was seeing a bunch of people post stuff about a restrictor in the stock air box which was noticed when replacing with an aftermarket intake. I figured there had to be a way to remove it so I messed around with it tonight after work. Removed the lower air box, removed the water shield from the intake box, tapped the restrictor from the inside once with a hammer, fell right out. May have improved midrange power and it has a subtle throaty sound to it now. Not the sound of an aftermarket intake by any means but I do hear a difference. Only other mod is an AFE Pro Dry drop in filter. 10 minutes and free, works for me!

 

New Grille today.
Took about 40minutes, once I figured out how to get the old grille off the car.
Used a Dremel tool to cut off old grille, and a Drill gun to tap 5 pilot holes.

It looks ok on the surface (minus the gouge from wheeling) but I can't say for sure. I'm really hopeful!!

What the hell happened?? Were those Ridge Grapplers?

 

Nitto Terra Grappler - they were my original stock tires. I was already looking to upgrade, this just escalated that decision. lol

Not really sure! I hate to admit - when I got in the car this morning the tire pressure light was on - but it was cooler this morning so I figured it was ok. I had a moment where I thought "just get out and look" but this is definitely not the first time it has come on when it's "cool" (by Houston standards) so I just went ahead and left. Was driving on the hwy about 80 MPH and suddenly had a LOT of road noise - I figured something was wrong and started to slow down - then it became very apparent I had a flat - so I pulled off. By the time I was able to get to the opposite shoulder (no shoulder at all on the left) - it was fully blown out. I was on a raised part of the hwy and didn't have room to change the tire (without getting flattened by crazy Houston drivers) so I drove it about 3 MPH to the next exit - that's when the remainder of the tire just fell away. I live in a new neighborhood - they are actively building on the main road - so maybe I ran over a nail - and it just went to hell from there? Really not sure

 

Sidewall looks dry rotted and the little bit of tread that is left looks like it was very low. Maybe that with low tire pressure caused it. Good thing no one was hurt and it looks like there is no real damage.

 

I like the retro T O Y O T A but usually de-badge my vehicles of all lettering. I may add a TEQ badge or some other logo later though, undecided

For some reason the Factory Subwoofer in my Runner has never worked (bought vehicle used). A powered, under-seat Sub is the easiest way to get low-end fill.

Took about 4 hours. I worked slowly and made sure I understood where I was going. Also took some time to carefully tuck and hide the wires.

The Kenwood Sub sounds way better than factory (no surprise, as it has 150 watts powering it). This is the only under-seat subwoofer that I was sure would fit under a 2010 Limited seat, and it fits Perfect! Sounds great, too! Adds a punchy low-end, that fills out the sound.
Sounds better than my home stereo system (at least while the truck is parked).

Yes, I need to vacuum. No, I'm not going to.

 

Installed Weather Tech window rain guards today and ordered a OEM mud flap kit this afternoon.

I'm really pleased with the end result! I was hesitant w/the bronze wheels - I really thought I wanted black - but I'm glad I went with these!

Dude - buying them was SO stressful. I was online - counting down for the newest inventory to be released - and the site messed up. I tried and tried - and it kept failing. I thought for sure I would have to wait another month. Was SOOOOOOO excited to get them!!

 

I had the Stealth 6’s on my Tacoma and sold them. Traded the Tacoma in. Not sure if I will try to get the Ray10’s. I was leaning towards the F5’s in Black. My Stealth 6’s were Bronze.

 

All good options! I originally wanted SR8 but they didn't have them in stock. I'm very happy with my Ray 10s though!!

 

Is that a 3” lift? What type if tire is that?
